O Negative

Currently,
1) Ugly traits reduce relationship/opinion significantly, causing positive opinions of ugly people to never really happen
2) Attractive traits increase relationship/opinion significantly, causing negative opinions of attractive people to never really happen

This leads to some rather odd social interactions; which don't make a whole lot of sense, honestly.

My suggestion(s),
1) Nerf the opinion offset significantly
2) Have these traits factor into the "attraction" component of the current social system

Personally, I feel like these changes would make the social system in Rimworld seem a bit more fluid and realistic, without putting a lot of strain on performance or gameplay. I'm open to others' thoughts on this.

Or have it be a factor that gets multiplied with the bonuses. So ugly people still get points for social interactions, but they have to work harder for them to add up. That way they still get some positives, but they don't have to overcome a huge negative starting value.

To be clear, it does factor into the hidden "attraction" stat.  But I can understand how that would be hard to tell, given that it's not exposed to the user in any way...

An interesting/annoying side effect of this is that ugly people usually don't get Lovin' nearly as much, no matter how socially positive their relationship might be.

It's been a good minute or so since I've had a chance to decompile the assembly.dll, so I must've just missed that bit when I looked at it last haha
