Coolers not working?

Ok, so this is something I've never seen before.  I've got a smallish freezer (~6x8), and am in a desert climate.  It's only 17C outside, but even with 3 coolers on my freezer, all set to -1, the temperature bottoms out at 5C.  I've been in other scenarios with heat waves, where the temps got up to 40s & 50s, and 2 coolers was sufficient to keep stuff frozen in a much larger freezer.  Anybody have an idea on what gives?  Thanks.

Can you please post a screenshot of your freezer setup. IIRC if the venting square for the cooler is a 1x1 enclosed (unroofed) area, then the coolers won't work very well. Or at least this was the case in A15 (no idea if the same applies in A16).

Here is a discussion thread that might be of help (if it is a 1x1 area).

Thanks Calahan.  That was it - the venting area was not large enough, though it was larger than 1x1.

BTW, the way you answered, makes it seem that A16 has been released?  I haven't gotten an email from sendowl about the update...

Yes, A16 has now officially been released. Check Tynan's most recent blog post for details.

If you haven't had an email yet with your Sendowl download link, then if you find an old email for one of the earlier releases then you can use the link from that email to download A16 with, as your own personal Sendowl download link doesn't change, and you can always use it to download the most recent official version.

In regards the missing/late email. I think there's sometimes a delay with emails going out (likely several factors). My Sendowl email came promptly for A16, but for A15 I think it was over a day before the email arrived. So if it isn't in your spam folder, then it's probably been held up somewhere in the internet ether. But as I said your previous download link should be working fine. Although if you have any problems, please feel free to contact Michael (Ludeon support) at [email protected].

My cooler seems to be powered but colonists don't bring anything to store in it. Is there a way to force storage in the freezer?

zones, stockpile, you can manage everything that goes in.

Make sure to either remove food as storage items in your stockpiles outside of the freezer or make them a lower priority.
