"Megasloths"?  How lame is that?  Rimworld veterans know the truth about these majestic beasts and their proud name.  MEGATHERIUM.

Seems like the mod would be child's play for someone who knows what they're doing ... I just want the creature name, the meat name, the fur, garments made from their hide, etc. to go back to the PROPER AND CORRECT name.

Thanks for reading :)

Hydromancerx

Yeah that's rather lame.

*Rides off on his Megatherium*

megasloth is fine

also you can change name of object literally by single line mod*

*will be a bit more then single line due to XML syntax rules

I have tried it and could not do it by just altering the name. How would you go about this? Asking generally and not just for this case.

EDIT: apparently I'm a dumbass

Have you tried changing the <label>'s of the pawnKind and thingDef?

Pretty sure that's all it would take.

A whopping TWO lines of code :D

Update: Yup, it was two lines of code.

Thank you! But does it also change the names of meat, leather & wool? (Don't have A16 for testing)
I'm from Austria. If I offend you, it's usually inadvertently.

I don't know if it did before but I renamed it after learning how to do that (thank you, O Negative!) for the hell of it.

EDIT: added pic

Leather wool and meat are autogenerated things. So changing the animals details in its def would change all of them as they all call back to that. Hope that helps.
Skullywag modded to death.
I'd never met an iterator I liked....until Zhentar saved me.
Why Unity5, WHY do you forsake me?

Well that was added for Tynans benefit. Imagine adding all the animals he has added in previous alphas if he also had to add the defs for meat and leather etc. This just speeds the process up, reduces the chance for bugs and any bugs found are easier to fix and we as modders can benefit from the having access to the same system.  Lifes great!

Whoa, that's amazing. Gotta suggest this mod to be included in the core game!

I think it was in the core game before A16 but got changed so I guess it wont be reverted.
