One Change i would like to see is the introduction of craftable bandages, as i think the actual Medicine should only be used for infections/sicknesses having bandages used for well bandaging wounds would make more sense. (the amount of times i have had someone dying from infection as the doctor has used my last medicine to treat someone's bruise)
one way of doing this obviously grow cotton to make cloth and craft them from cloth at a tailors workbench or as people wont wear the clothing from a dead person and all they are good for is selling if you dont force people to wear them, a "Make Bandages" option could be added to them to rip them up into bandages.

Regarding the problem of using up medicine, well, you can treat wounds without wasting medicine by selecting what quality medicine you allow to use on the pawn, in the "health" tab, I think. If you don't allow any medicine then the healer just bandages the pawn, with bandages being abstracted.

Nothing against craftable bandages of course.
