inside 24h plague, malaria, raid, 2nd plague, infection

I've lost 6 colonists - 1st time I've been tempted to save scum

I know that feel man ;)
Just started a colony with Randy on some challenge... Got a pretty harsh start too.
Had one guy join me, which later died because a raider shot off his left leg and my main doctor was busy patching up the other two, so he bled out.
And now the damn plague has taken Engie, one of my three lasting, loyal, crashlanders. Didn't set up a drug labour early enough, poor Engie had no chance.
Oh, and my doctor has the gut worms. Luckily we have far more than hundred meals stocked. But the fact that Engie was my main builder and crafter is utterly damaging. Now I'm just hoping Randy sends me someone with viable building skills.

We have discussed this just a week or two before, and it has been brought up even earlier: The medical system is currently a bit out of whack and is likely to get tweaked in the next alpha. Until then you need to savescum, prioritize getting some penoxcycline from a trader and pray to the RimGods.

Can't really save scum disease since you contract it + spam autosaves where it's progressing.  Crash landed can set up penoxy production pretty fast, tribes not so much.

You pretty much have to abuse trades right now, since the default counterplay is too out of whack and you have a chance to have RNG game over even if you play optimally otherwise.  As a result I just go out of my way to put tribe somewhere it can reasonably get trade caravans done.  Disease is functionally broken w/o penoxy (or luciferium, once you can afford to keep the doctor on that...it's almost always less expensive/faster to get penoxy going but sometimes you get that lucky drop...).
