Wheelchairs should be constructable for minions missing legs.  This would allow for 20-30% movement,  and allow the minion in question to be able to partake of joy (chess),  crafting,  some production (cooking) and research.    I suggest they be constructed using the smithing tech and use about 20 wood,  30 steel and 30 cloth.  Minions with at least one arm but no legs would be able to equip their wheelchairs from their beds.

Couldn't they just get peg legs installed?

Yes,  but many players refuse to install them,  waiting for later tech.  Also,  if the hip is destroyed,  peg legs are not an option.

They would use manipulation for speed I would think, bionic arms would be faster than normal arms.  Also a later tech that has a motor installed on it.

I like this idea. The idea of one of my colonists propelling himself across the map using a shotgun as thrust, really speaks to my soul.

Mad Max but in wheelchairs, that's what this game needs.

I support this though, in all seriousness.

Lower limb damage isn't the only reason for a colonist to lose the ability to move. When you have a colonist with spinal cord injury he can't move anymore and becomes basically useless. A wheelchair would solve this and add new story possibilities...

A +1 from me, i really like this idea, but i think the shattered spine would need to be done more in-depth because different levels of paralysis occur depending on the section of spine shattered, a colonists may have his legs paralyzed or his whole body.
