Ship Building

Is there any way to build an actual ship? I have a revolving door colony with ships constantly being built/launched and its frustrating to see such an advanced colony launching rocket stick ships. I've tried and seen people try to build ships but only the core ship pieces launched.

use dev mode to remove the other parts, and imagine that they all launched.

You don't have to build sticks. Last launch I sort of walled myself in with girders (move all materials "inside", set your builder to build the last part from inside, enter cryptobay, launch). See profile pic for reference.
