That would replace your former colonists brain (and with it personality, everything) with that of a scheming highly intelligent centuries old mechanoid (who, like his brethren, most probably doesn't like humans).

Giving it a body and the capability to act/roam freely in your colony most probably would be the last conscious thing you would be able to do, before you all are enslaved by your new AI overlord

The Expanded Prosthetics and Organ Engineering has 65% and 100% equivalent brain replacements.

IMO, a 135% cognition upgrade would be OP.

I'd like to replace chunks at a time, with multiple surgeries.
Each chunk replacement could be filled with a skill or trait.

Brain harvesting to build instalable modules
"I'm gonna eat your brains and gain your knowledge"
Later tech to non-destructively record memories

Might fit in well with building an army of clones
