Enemies flee through fort

Below is a screenshot of enemies fleeing.  The ones on the left side have elected to path through the second entrance of my fort all the way on the other side rather than the one they came from, basically opening themselves up to a face full of minigun and another set of turrets on the other side.

I think the solution here is to record what part of the map the enemies came from, and path there when fleeing.

Thank you for the bug report. Can I please ask where those raiders were when they started to retreat in relation to the centre of the map / map edge? As if I understand the mechanics correctly, when raiders start to retreat, they will pick the closest exit tile "as the crow flies". And if that means traversing the player's base then so be it. Obviously this is not an ideal system, but as with most things concerning pathfinding, any improvements will come at a (possibly heavy) cost to performance. So situations like this might be viewed (by Tynan) as an acceptable trade-off to maintain performance.

I'll leave this open though for the devs in case there is something buggy here, as the above is just my own take on it which could be mistaken (if my understanding of the retreat mechanics are incorrect). Although I'm assuming the devs would probably need a save of this just before the raiders retreated to be able to properly check for a bug. So if you have such a save then it would be great if you could post it. If not, the just a save of this colony might do as then a raid can be triggered via the dev console and the raiders manipulated to retreat in the same spot they did in your screenshot.

They actually did not even path correctly to "the closest spot off map".  The problem is the attack was split in two on both fronts of my base.  So maybe all raiders took the same fleeing path even though it was terrible for the ones on the left side.

I'm not quite sure what happened here actually, as it looked like the upper right entrance retreated southwest towards where they came from while the left side retreated through the fort (eventually all captured before making it to the other side).  Wish I kept a save, oh well.

They started from the south in any case.

I always thought they were just panicking and it was intentional. I mean they suddenly start falling into known deadfall traps, so why not that.
