Rooms with large temperature differences are extremely sporadic.

I'm in a playthrough with the outside temperature being around -150c (climate cycle and cold snaps during winter) and the inside temp is fluctuating from 4c to 15c within a second or so and then going back. Are there any mods or changes that could be reasonably be made to add a sort of delay lag to the temperature to keep the number from jumping around so much?

Note - I don't have all my heaters set to the same temperature so it steps the power (and hopefully the pushed heat)

Quick in game fix:  more heaters, bigger room, all on.

Thicker walls help, and possibly harder walls (stone> wood?).  Second part could be made up.

Already in a room of 360 m^2. Also with around 16 heaters and 2 thick stone walls. Though, thanks for the advice.

Sounds like more walls ;)  Doesn't sound hard to mod, but it'd be solving the issue for like one person, though, which isn't worth any modders' time.  Why not just set the temp higher, then, though, for a bigger buffer?  Heastroke is >30 ish, and plants don't care at all really.

Vents also exacerbate this issue, so if you are worried about the somewhat sensitive "slept in the heat/cold", you'll want individual heaters for rooms.

This could also be a problem of setting your heaters to the wrong values.  My gut reaction is you want 85% of your heaters on full blast 24/7 (target temperature infinite) with only a marginal amount throttled to lower temps.

Why is unstable temperature important ? Sleeping quarters ? Plants dying at -10*C ?

You could also try turning some of the heaters off and then on again to see if you can desynchronize them.

Alternately, give each one a unique temperature and see if that stabilizes things.

You could also try building separate rooms connected by open doorways to act as temperature buffers.
