Hi,

I know that dropships can't get thru the "thick" (dark green roof) overhead mountains but they can go thru the thinner lighter green overhead roofs. If i dug an area out a cave with the thin roof overhead, and then fill the area up completely with walls, can drop pods still break the wall and drop there? I don't recall from my previous enemy drop pods if they break walls or not.

Thanks

Enemies will break down walls or doors if they are trapped inside. So will wild animals once they are starving enough. The only roof that can't be penetrated is overhead mountain. Goes for mortars too.

right i get that if they land in a open space with thin roof (even a 1 tile open space) they'll start break down walls to get. I'm asking if there are no open space, by filling the entire cave with walls, will it still drop in - by having the "touch down" break the walls to make space.

I never encounter that drop pods land on any walls i made, next to wall, maybe on build structures but never on walls.

If you got a drop pod attack, they will just land outside to the possible area. The same area orbital trader will use when you don't got trade beacon unroofed for trade.

It I understand you correctly, you want to dig out an area that otherwise has "thin" roofing and then fill it back in with walls to that there is no floor.  Then you are asking if a drop pod can crash into this area.

If that is what you are asking, I believe drop pods have to land on a floor.  They don't crash onto walls, so this would not work.

However, if what you are asking is can you make a "trap" room where the center is open floor, but there are 2-3 layers of wall surrounding the chamber and hope the drop pod lands in the middle.  I suspect you can (I haven't tried it.), although there is no guarantee that the pod will choose that location as the landing spot.

I don't think they will. That's how I backfill overhead mountain to prevent infestation and that works. Pretty sure they need a floor.

Greetings.

The answer for your question is NO. They need open space to land. I always COMPLETELY fill in thin roof areas + 1 area around it to make sure and they won't be able to land.
