So i know you can capture/rescue people from other tribes and/or Outlanders and when you get them save of your map when they got wounded you get some more Trust by the Faction they belong. So my Question is, does this apply to the pirates? So if i for example capture 5 or so and let them go safely will the Pirates like me then? :o

No. Pirates will always be hostile.

Maybe you can change this with dev tools but honestly I have never tried.
The only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down.

Oh ok. Wouldve been a bit weird to have pirates as your friends i suppose ;D

Thanks for the Help and the Quick Reply :)

Why would that be strange? Pirates are people too.

Well, duuh, but they are also pirates. They are called that for a reason .-.
If they were just regular people who can be made friends with, they would not be called pirates.

I'm nobody from nowhere who knows nothing about anything.
But you are still wrong.

Until we have no implemented "morality" system there is no reason to be friends with pirates. If in future we will have a colony of slavering cannibal raiders, then pirate factions at least can possibly be traded with, logically, but for now - pirates are pirates.

In a future update I imagine diplomacy will be more fleshed out, allowing more dynamic relationships with factions.

Maybe two pirate factions are rivals and want to ally with the player to help take down their rival. Or maybe due to the really fucked up way you handle your colonists and prisoners they warm to because hey, you aren't that different after all.

I think I'd like to see an expansion of the faction system where there are many more smaller factions instead of 3-4 that control the entire planet and when destroying these factions you have them option of absorbing them into your own.

See if pirates are ever friendly to you it means they could be friendly to someone else, and if pirates start making friends who are they going to pirate?  you gotta stay true to your pirate self!

But Monkey.D.Luffy seems like a nice guy. So why can't pirates be friendly? I am sure in real life too most pirates were very welcome all they ever did was eat a lot of meat and everyone could greet there little talking rain-deer friend and end up saving everyone at the end of the day.  I'm no history buff but I'm pretty sure pirate often made everyone's life easier. Am I right?

The problem with being able to become friendly with the hostile factions is, eventually there'd be no one left to raid you, and then what would Randy do when he hates your guts?

Well by the time that we get to having diplomacy this in depth I imagine there'll be more in depth faction mechanics to help differentiate our selves from the other inhabitants. Possibly a government arch type or religion that encourages cooperation or hostility with other types of governments or religions. It'd be interesting to see a faction not be happy with how you treat your colonists and then possibly trying to coerce them to leave your faction and join theirs. Conditions could be different depending on their government or religion type, for example a communist faction could be unhappy with you that your colonists did not all have the same living standards or that you were exploiting other people for profit.

Is it? A dynamic world civilization would hold plenty of individuals, groups, and subgroups to target you at one time or another. As it is though these planets only harbor a few thousand human inhabitants (fewer than may visit/attack you over the years?), so all these questions need to be taken as part of a comprehensive social overhaul.

For instance, why at any given time can't your band of colonists cut their losses and run for the cities? "Park Rescue Service, we tried setting up a compound in the wilderness and we can't make it anymore!"
