Crafting bills and orders should have option "forbid when dropped"

An enormous amount of inefficiency and annoying micromanagement follows from situations like these:

1) cutting stones away from base, and people run to haul back every stack of 20

2) cooking things for storage/long term and people eating it because it is higher quality

3) crafting various things and people hauling it when not needed
(Almost same as 1)

4) mining / harvesting and having people run out to haul partial stacks

Most of these can be partially solved by complex zoning setups, which is also annoying micro.

Crafting bills should have a "forbid when dropped" option to easily solve all these problems, automatically.

Then I could craft survival meals and lavish meals for emergencies without people consuming them.

And I could cut stone blocks without forbidding the zone for everyone except the cutter.

Etc etc etc

Edit: oh and the same goes for mining , but since mining is not a crafting bills
It would have to be done some other way.

Perhaps "mine & forbid" could be an order. Which brings us to harvesti g and tree cutting which should have the same.

I think until this is implemented, I'm going to use zones a lot more.

As long as I'm only doing one of these things, it's ok to make a forbidden zone around the crafting table and set everyone else to that zone. But when there are multiple tasks of different kind for different colonists, it isn't manageable, if at all possible.

Just to add to this I'd love to see a way to assign the crafted object to a specific colonist in the bill.

In relation with this proposition but with some difference ; I would like to have an option in the crafting bill to get the crafted items transported to a storage then automatically forbidden.

It would permit for example to store lavish meals, alpaca wool clothes and others for trade without having our pawns eating or using them each time and without micro-management.
I will never do worse than what I do now.
It's what self-improvement means.

This is what on drop does ..

take to best stockpile and then drop .
or drop on floor ..

tell the pawn where to drop the item .. if you click on a pawn carrying away an item after crafting you can see that the crafting job is still active.

in another thread about a similiar matter someone proposed to declare the storage area for trade goods as prison area.
Because pawns don't use items from there.
Just use a sleeping spot, not set to medical, so it gets selected last when capturing someone.

Maxim 37 : There is no overkill. There is only open fire and reload.

I'm going to try, it's an interesting tip.

Great, that should work with cooking and clothes.

Not stonecutting though  :'(
