How do you disable a pawn's ability to do certain work?

I can't find anywhere in the source code how the game disable's pawn's ability to do work.

What I want to do is force the inability to perform all crafting, tailoring, smithing, research worktypes, etc when my C# hediff is applied. How do I go about this? I can't find how they do it in backstories because I cannot find where the backstories are stored. Does anybody have a good idea on how to do this?

Maybe look at the Robots mod. It lets you add and subtract work types from the robot definitions. So crack open its C# and keep fingers crossed
