Rimworlds' unmodded ambient music is some of the best there is, that said. I had hope there would be more options for us Role-players or just people looking for something else to tune, something I haven't seen yet and I think it would wonderfully fit with Rimworld is a Diablo themed ambient replacer music pack, full replacer. Meaning even combat and danger music, perhaps a few alerts as well to fit with it.

While surfing youtube I found these examples:

Diablo 1 Full Soundtrack (first part specially seems amazing as main menu replacer music)

And then

Diablo 2 Full Soundtrack (most of them ar there I think)

If someone can provide me with the know-how, or even better, truly. Make such mod, replacing all ambient songs to those of diablo, dark evil themes. Know that your work will be COMPLETELY APPRECIATED by the community and me.

Razzoriel

You can simply rip off the music from those two links, and then use it in any type of mod that lets you add music to it. Audacity lets you do it quite simply.

It would be counter intuitive to the purpose of creating a new mod, that said. Maybe it could be easy to take a mod apart and try and put it back together with replaced songs. Hmmm. Perhaps its worth a try.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it seems like this would work for you? https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=34684.0

Description:
As great as RimWorld's music is, sometimes it's time for a change. With this mod you can listen to your local music library in RimWorld. Just point it to a directory and it will add the songs to the game's track list.

EDIT: I read your post again and see you want a few more options than the mod I linked to has, my apologies. That mod author might be interested in a collab, though?

Potentially. Its not as modular as I would have hoped. What I had been thinking is a entire new mod that I can enable and disable as needed, custom music is just a replacer no? or can I create multiple lists of music? I have 3 mod lists I use, one for medieval, one for sci-fi. Each have is own theme and music requirements, I imagine a lot of people also has its own mod sets, pretty amazing stuff you can do with the Modlist Backup mod.

If I'm understanding everything correctly, that mod would let you pick the folder you wanted music from--meaning you could choose your sci-fi, medieval, whatever playlist.
I don't know that it would change alert tones, but you could in theory change at least that much.

i usually play with youtube open in a browser in a background playing whatever music i want, so much easier than modding!

I made a mix of different OST's from other games so I can have whatever vibe I want.
(medieval, futuristic, dark and creepy).

EDIT: BTW i highly recommend Red Dead Redemption Ost, since the western/modern music really fits the game for the most part!
