Colony gathering to eat dinner together

I notice that colonists occasionally eat at the same time, and they have conversations together. It seems to be mostly for flavor, as colonists have conversations in passing, but it really livens up the colony when a group of colonists are eating and talking at the same time.

One way of pulling it off would be leveraging the Restrict tab. The Restrict tab has Anything, Work, Joy, and Sleep. It would be nice if Eat would be added so that there could be an hour or two dedicated to colonists getting together and eating. Maybe add snacks to the game so that colonists can take small chunks out of their hunger throughout the day so that they still have room for when everyone gets together and eats.

There's also the added benefit of them not eating at inapropriate times. Not a huge deal, but it'd be a convenient, quality of life sort of feature.
Should I feel bad that nearly half my posts are in the off topic section?

+1 for eat being added to the Restrict tab.  Pawns would only eat at their assigned times unless they hit the "urgently hungry" state, at which point they could seek food on their own, similar to how it works for injured pawns now.

1+ I can already imagine the beauty of the colonists having dinner in a cozy little cabin in a snow-filled spruce forest...

... right in front of the only exit of the snow-covered cabin filled with colonists incapable of skilled labour.

...and suddenly Tim, the pyromaniac, wants to light up the situation.

Also i hope this will greatly reduce the chance they eat at field

A simple suggestion would be to have a designated eating time. We already have work, anything, sleep and joy. Eating would get everyone in the same room, socialise, and most importantly, it's extremely rewarding to see your pawns in one spot together because goddamit, you put a lot of effort into making that fancy dining room of yours.

It would be good to see this in-game. Full support!

I imagine this happening like the party event.

When started, one, or more, colonists go for the fridge and get out food, which is placed in dining room tables. When done, all colonists come for dinner and take a seat, start eating and chatting afterwards for a while. I dunno if it already exists, but I'd wish conversation be more effectiv the more colonists are present.
Would also be a performance boost, as only one goes for the fridge every 10 meals.
