May i ask why the mod was taken down on steam? it ruined my game when it was taken down. all the stuff i made from my start as a tribe is all gone

Uploaded a copy of it up. Hope O Negative doesn't mind. I really don't like people's saves being broken over steam's auto-mod removal. :\

People downloading: I guess you'll need to rename the folder "827839100" instead of "Bulk Meals". Someone correct me if that's not right. I'm not using steam for any games I like to play moded [rimworld, skyrim, etc]. I'm so glad because of things like this. :\

Edit: For anyone reading: Since the mod's author is trying to kill off their mod, if possible you should switch over to a different mod and use it instead. I'm using Feed the Colonists which offers similar functionality. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=25128.0

I guess if you can't do it on your current colony without losing a ton of supplies or breaking it, then use a different mod on your next colony. I uploaded a copy of the mod to help people get their saves working again.

You might be able to cleanly remove this mod if you remove any current cooking bills that uses this mod [ie any Bulk X meals]. So, step by step directions: put a unextracted copy of the mod in the mod folder*. Boot up your game, remove any current bulk bills, save a new copy [not over anything], remove mod. Try to boot your new save and check if a bunch of your food is gone or not. Report back if this works or not.

So I downloaded the mod and put it in my load order where it was before but my map still wont load. Do you guys have any advice on getting it to work?

It seems Lethe uploaded some older version of the mod, which does not contain recipe for bulk kibble. That's probably why the game still won't load.
I've managed to edit my save to remove Bulk meals and so far the surgery seems to have been successfull :]

How I did it:
- Make a copy of the save.
- Open it in Notepad++ or something similar that displays XML nicely.
- Search for texts:
  • <recipe>BulkMakeKibble</recipe>
  • <recipe>BulkCookMealSimple</recipe>
  • <recipe>BulkCookMealFine</recipe>
  • <recipe>BulkCookMealLavish</recipe>
- Those are active bills. In my case they were enclosed within <li> element under stove and butcher table. I removed the whole <li> elements.
- Load the edited save, confirm missing mod (click Load anyway).
- Check if the stove and butcher table works correctly, if you can add the classic work bills it's fixed. Probably.

I provide no guarantee, it might make your computer explode for all I know :) but mine hasn't exploded yet...

Gosh darnit, she ain't workin. I tried to manually reinstall at first, that didn't work. Then i went into the save file and too out the <li>BulkWhatvever lines like SvPateyl suggested and it still wont load. I'm getting an error message with the mod's stuff still listed, see here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=875118743
Am I being stupid and missing something or is there anything else to try? I really want this save to work again...

Hey. My savefile was also corrupted by the removal of this mod. I fixed it by finding stoves from savefile, removing all bills from them and adding </bills> </billstack> and </thing> after them. Somehow those closings had been moved to all the way to the bottom just before </things>. Works fine now! GL guys.

Yeah, his method should work for removing the bills from your save file. If you don't want to install a program to change it you can use good old notepad. If it doesn't look formatted nicely, then open it up with wordpad. Half of the time it looks good in one of them, but not the other.

As long as you have back up copies of your save this shouldn't be risky at all.

You're correction that the link you provided has kibble in it. The author had two versions of this mod. The normal, (not nerfed), version of this mod does not have kibble in it. I uploaded that one. Only the nerfed version has the kibble (and pemmican) in it. I don't know why, I suppose she goofed. The copies I provided are up to date to whatever she posted to the forums here. You can actually still grab them from the first post if you sign in/make an account. I figured lurkers would be coming in to fix their saves and if you're not signed in you'd have no idea there was any file attached to anything. :\ My links are for the lurkers and insurance if she/he decides to remove the files from her/his main post too.

If you want the values changed (de-nerf the kibble) then it's super easy to do yourself. Open the "Recipes_BulkFood.xml" and change the work amount. Line would look like "<workAmount>1200</workAmount>" Lower number = faster (less work), higher number = longer (more work).

The 'nerf' mentioned throughout this posts refers to how much work it'd take to create the meals. Some folks thought it was too quick/efficient and they wanted a version that didn't make things too easy.

Can we not report posts just because the OP has taken his mod down. He has his reasons and will make them known if he feels like it, but im guessing due to the other similar mod he feels this is superfluous....maybe.

That is why I don't use steam, I just download the mod. Ya, it may be good for auto-updating, but it is bad when it comes to stuff being taken down.
