Probability of Events in Randy

I started a Rich Explorer game in Randy Permadeath and was hoping to get a free colonist within the first week, didn't happen. Got a Raid on Day 7. Is this now standard? Is the possibility of a "crashlanded" or "wanderer joins" event tied to Randy's randomness? I've got three mods running but none of them change game behavior, afaik. They're of the more stuff variety.

Also, perhaps related. I never got a chance to naming event either. This may be tied to a mod that messed with map generation but I'm not sure. I wound up with a random faction name and "Colony" for the colony name.

Well, yes, but in the past (at least in my experience) having only one colonist would add significant weight to getting a free colonists. They would typically arrive around the 3rd-5th day and trigger the colony naming event. This is the first time I got a raid before a free colonist on Rich Explorer, and also my first game in b18.

Unlike the other storyteller Randy don't follow a "story". Sure the difficult at the first time is reduced like at the other storytellers. But when Cassandra would give you 2 wanderer or escape pods, randy can give you anything.

But noone prevent you to switch the storyteller, you can start with cassandra and after 1-2 ingame years to switch to randy.
If that wouldn't be against your feeling of cheating, since you wanted Randy and Permadeath.
