Changing traits in the save file please help

so i stupidly forced the trait of psychopath for all characters cuz i figured they wouldn't get a mood loss from seeing dead bodies had i actually been aware of what i was doing i'd of realized this was a horribly stupid idea cuz no one is getting married and there are constant social fights its getting annoying

There's "mods" that can help u change this but haven't been updated in 3 years so i'm wary to trust them

There was a thing in these forums about how to edit the save file but it was gibberish to me

so i tried to do it myself.....not only did it not work i somehow gave one of my colonists the bloodlust trait? EDIT: it changed from blood lust to misogyny.....i am so....

The support forum is predominantly for users having trouble getting the vanilla game to work. By the sounds of it your game works fine, it's just that you've just messed up your save game by trying to edit it.

There isn't really a best place for this type of issue on the forum because it's an entirely self inflicted issue, and so nothing to do with support, bugs, mods or anything. Tbh you may be better off just starting a new game, but I'll move this thread to GD because that's the least worst place for it, and likely your best bet of finding someone who can help (that assuming it's possible to fix your game, which it might well not be, so again starting a new game now is likely better than waiting in hope).
