it's entirely possible... but only if it's not being judged... it doesnt perform well under pressure...

Erm, I don't want my first post to be the height of pedantry but oval planets are entirely possible. One of our own solar system outliers is a very odd shape. Strangely I've never met anyone who is actually aware of this. So here you go, ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haumea_(dwarf_planet)

I'm fairly certain that once you get into Mars-mass rocky planets and above, they're going to be very close to spherical since they're too massive and the material they're made out of is too dense. Saturn and Haumea can bulge out as oblate spheroids because of low density in the former and low mass in the latter.
