ABS Polymer adds as the name suggests ABS Polymer to the game. A type of plastic used in tons of everyday uses from cars to construction ABS is there. ABS is marked as a Woody, Metallic and Stony material so it can be used for just about everything wood, stone or steel can be used for with exceptions of course. Strength wise this is the upper middle grounds between wood and steel.

How to obtain?

You can obtain ABS Polymer after researching Refining and ABS Polymer from the Polymer Work Bench from organics, chemfuel or wood. Wood and organics producing the least amount of ABS.

In addition, there is Polymer Weave and Reinforced Polymer Weave serving as the middle grounds between Cloth/Devilstand and Synthread/Hyperwave respectively in a sexy jet black color scheme at the ABS Polymer Workbench.

Cool beans, I can't wait to give this one a go. When things are made with this what is the beauty rating?

The ABS Polymer flooring gives a +2 beauty per tile and the base beauty is 1.3x when made of ABS. This can be altered since personally I believe it's a beautiful material. Some things still need to be ironed out so feedback is appreciated!

really interesting and functional modification. the polymer is effective and impressive.

Pretty cool! So do this act as a <stoney> or <metallic> type of stuff by chance?

Thank you! ABS Serves as both metallic and woody so it can be used for most things from furniture to worktables in the game!

It looks amazing. I have seen other polymer mod but it was looking awful for me. I am currently making few armors and i will sure make one as addon to use Your ABS Polymer.
Thanks for this mod!

Awesome. I haven't looked into it, but I was wondering if it was possible to make your own <type> or whatever through just xml. Because I've modded in some gemstones: ruby, emerald, sapphire, and quartz. And I want to make some things to be able to made out of this stuff, and not necessarily go through every item and add these defs in a possible ingredients, ya'know what I mean? If I could have a <gemstone> type, that might be appropriate. I want this to be for maybe some weapons and an armor, but not workbenches, furniture, and other things that can be made from woody, stony, and metallic. Because like I said, then I need to go in and add or remove my new gemstones from everything else already in the game. Or at least that's how I am understanding things at the moment.

So in your recipes file you would say add something like this to make it accept all types of for instance fabrics right?

<costStuffCount>100</costStuffCount>          <- This tell it to require 100 of whatever category listed below
        <stuffCategories>
            <li>Fabric</li>                                  <- Accept anything fabric
            <li>Leathery</li>                              <- Accept anything leather
        </stuffCategories>
     <costList>
       <Cloth>20</Cloth>                                < This the base cost of 20 cloth + 100 of the other items listed in categories
     </costList>
    <thingCategories>
      <li>Apparel</li>
    </thingCategories>

Hope this helps. I'm not the best teacher but I'll try to help as much as I can

Thanks Sublime, I very much appreciate you taking the time to post that for me, but I'm afraid there has been a miscommunication :)

What I mean is, I want an entirely new <stuffCategory>, so instead of only having fabric, leathery, metallic, woody, stony, I want to add my own new one in, whatever I want. I was wondering if I can achieve this via only xml, and I suppose I can probably find my answer if I look further into a specific metal or stone and browse around the xml defs, I just haven't gotten around to this yet :)

That was the reason I typed out something like <Gemstones>, because I know this does not exist in the game as far as I know.

Cool, i'll try this in my plastic colony, it'll be black and white 8)

Edit: ABS polymer weave has an armor blunt modifier of 12500% i guess it's an oversight. Otherwise nice mod to use with simple plastics and reinforced ABS polymer weave is really powerful

Canute

12500% geesshhh *think about a skinsuit with that material for boxing*
