Because i have a few ideas for some mods that would be kind of cool to have in this game. Note, these are just rough drafts of an idea, you know whatever maybe give any modders out there an idea or two for a new mod.

Developing a culture

After say a week or two after you choose the name of your tribe and community or after you research your first tech you'll get the option to choose a sort of culture base. this base will gradually change how your people see and interact with the world and its various peoples.

Mercantile: this Culture base will make your people more and more desiring, of amassing great wealth through peaceful trade. they will create items 15% faster and one level of higher quality than their respective skill allows, they will receive a mood debuff if they have to attack a settlement because they are killing off potential customers and thats really not good for business. they won't get the debuff if attacked by outside forces naturally they will receive a +10 mood buff if they make money on a trade more money more buff up to +50 Made a profit!.

Militaristic: This culture base will make your people more and more desiring of War and conquest. Your people will receive a mood debuff if they're not at war with someone for a prolonged period of time or not taking the fight to them. This debuff beginning after day 5 of choosing the Military culture will gradually get worse each day up to -100. they will create weapons and armor 15% faster, if you completely wipe out another tribe your people will gain a mood buff of +50 'Crushed our enemy' for several days (7+) giving you time to regroup, re-arm and rebuild/fortify.

Isolationist:
This culture base will make your people VERY defencive. they will receive a mood debuff of -5  for every RL minute (up to a max of -50) that another tribe friendly or not that traipse across your land. Isolationists tend to defend their land with avid fervor so they will receive a slight attack/defence buff when defending their land from trespassers. knowing this other tribes will, instead of going to war for the first time, they will try and reason with you through a message asking if they can set up a small spot near the edge of your land for trade purposes. if yes any new visitors/traders will hang around a spot on the edge of your map for you to interact with at your leisure. if not then very few visitors/travelers will venture to your land. if they happen to do so anyways (Rarely) and you attack/capture them it would of course mean war.

And possibly other culture bases you can think of... (at least 5)

Developing a religion

After a while of play you will get the option to start your own religion, Completely optional of course, but the religion you create could give small buffs to your tribe.

If you chose yes one of your tribes people will leave the map (with a few drugs if available) for a day. once the new day dawns a screen will appear saying that your tribe member had a vision of /a/ godlike being/s. You will get the option of choosing a singular god or a pantheon of gods (up to..say 9 ;)   ). you will get to give names to the god/s and there accompanying affect on your tribe. effects like..

Wealth of the stone: Increases the amount of resources you get from mineable materials by 10%

Vision quests: Drugs last 10% longer and give a lasting but random happiness buff/debuff of +20/-20 when the drug wears off ie a wondrous vision or a foreboding vision.

-Note: this will give you a hint that something good or bad MAY happen soon, with a bit more detail will be shown if the tribe member is psychically sensitive/hypersensitive. hints to rain for your crops, a difficult enemy raid is incoming, a friendly trader with fine goods will arrive soon, a blight on your crops and so on and so forth. if nothing happens the buff/debuff effect will just wear off.-

Wealth of the earth: Crops grow 10% faster on occasion and always give 10% more food when harvested.

Bursting coffers: Trading with other tribes (not traveling traders) gives a slight bonus when buying or selling. Giving you more money and costing you less.

Hardwork: Crafting, mining, building ect. is 10% faster and gives a +10 happiness buff when doing so.

War spirit: Attacking another tribe's village or killing other enemy tribe members (Defending) will gave your people a slight chance to receive better quality loot from there corpses/store rooms.

Craftsman: Making things, like weapons, armor, clothing, foods ect. have a chance to be of a higher quality then there skill allows.

Knowledge: Researching tech is 10% faster (and writing makes better quality books? if thats a thing?)

Love: Your tribes people will have a higher chance of joining with a mate (if available) (and if birds and bees mod is installed will give a higher chance of having a child) less chance of in fighting with tribe members and a +10 mood boost for 5 hours every morning upon waking.

and many other effects you can think of.. Seriously though there needs to be quite a few effects like say at minimum 20 theres one to nine gods to give purpose to after all you know?

what do you think? could this be a thing? create a set of mods that allows you to develop, dare i say, a Civilization? O_o

cultist

Sounds cool, but I'd like to see some penalties added as well so it's more than just "choose your buff" - a militaristic culture could attract less caravans, but more raiders as a simple example.

BTW the word for a trading-focused culture is "mercantile".
