Boombugs! Help Needed!

Alright, so I want to add in a mod that makes explosive variants of the base game insects, the Megaspiders and Megascarabs. I've already made the graphics, for both the insects as well as the hive, glowpod and jelly, but I just need help with the coding since I have no idea how it works.

I generally want them to work the same way the base game insects do, and to be able to infest areas, with the only major change being that they explode upon death, similar to Boomalopes.

If anyone is willing to help, I'd be awfully grateful and I'll be more than happy to credit you once the mod is released!
