Mixing non-foods with an ingredientValueGetterClass Recipe?

Im looking to make a small mod that has a Food Recipe in which a non food based item is part of the Recipe.

I noticed in the bills tab that Recipe's that have the ingredientValueGetterClass IngredientValueGetter_Nutrition cause the details page to display the ingredient values as a nutrient. This occurs for ALL ingredients. Which obviously is a problem for the Steel Can I want to include as an ingredient for my Recipe.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

i would take a look into Vegetable Garden.
The canning process is what you are looking for.
You need x steel + y nutri to made can's.

From what I read on Vegetable Garden's forum post the mod uses Steel as if it was a fuel for a separate worktable. While that technically works, I do not want to separate the cooking process from the existing Stoves. Im not sure, but I don't think it is possible to have a fuel be needed for one recipe but not others if those recipes are on the same worktable?

I want my mod's Stove to be able to cook regular meals, and canned meals.
