What is your arbitrary game ending when space lauch isn't a desire

I personally only desired to do space launch once to see if I could do it. Afterword my following playthroughs of rimworld usually ended when I got bored with the colony and wanted to try a run with a new mod or with the new update.

I personally been experimenting with creating scenarios for myself to complete to "win". One of my more interesting games was to start near all angry villages and destroy them all to win.

Have you guys ever done anything similar?

I usually get bored before I get to the point of launching the ship now, but that's how I am with games in general these days.  I still haven't traveled to the AI ship yet since the battle changes were put in.  Nor done much caravaning.  My most enjoyable time is in the beginning, when everything is rough and I only control one or two pawns.  Not sure if it was the past sea ice attempts I've done or what but ever since then I have a hard time managing big colonies with tons of pawns.    Before naked brutality was added in I always made that exact same scenario just custom.  A start with nothing scenario though I sometimes would change the starting rules slightly depending on biome.  i.e. maybe have a set of crap tribal wear on.

I tend to play until I feel my colony is thriving, then I move onto another challenge. I like to think they are all still out there.

Before 1.0 came out, my main goal was to establish a "permanent" colony on the Rimworld. My criteria was that two colonists need to have a child, and that child needs to reach 16 years of age.

Obviously, this was using the Children and Pregnancy mod, plus Rimsenal and Lovecraft.

Basically the same.

I Am Testing This Game

I play until I complete the ship and in 18- I would always take off and then start a new colony.  Currently, I have yet to complete a ship, although I got close, just needed to do the caravan quest to earn an AI core, but new builds happened and I started over again.  :)

I do intend to try the ship start-up sequence at least once and see how I do.  If it is horrible, I will probably just play each colony until the ship is finished and then start again.

Anyway, sorry, space launch is my ending.

Stability. Once it's clear the game isn't going to throw a challenge that the colony can't handle, then it's a win. I do a final named save and reroll.

I have never played to win, I don't desire to win, just to have fun..  I am currently running with a huge senario
I start with 2
They get like 125 iron and 140 wood or so.. no meals accept for 14 scattered about. instead of meals they get 135 meat and 125 berries.
no components  They start with 4 ship chunks instead, some where out there.. I give them 2 machine pistols  a mace and sword, in case. because the pistols  have very short range   They get no silver..  2 random animals, now days that is really fun  you never know what they will start with.
some where out there is 1 battery..   I think its needed I played enough times without them and 1 battery doesn't do much..
the name is  weeeeetooooo     no starting dialog accept   aHHHHHHHHHHHH......   cause they have no idea where they are going in those escape pods I always start on the largest maps my 64 bit computer has never had an issue with them,  they dont wreck the programing either, nor do they ever freeze..    they just give a much larger area to play and to have to search for there stuff.. and they dont feel cramped like the 250 or smaller do.. that pretty much covers it... I always play permadeath and   start on hard   any story teller...

I play until the lag becomes unbearable, which previously was around 100 pawns or so, with as many mods.  Haven't played that far in 1.0 yet, but I'm hoping the 64 bit exe will allow me to play past that.

I played to the spaceship a few times just to do it when I first started playing.  But these days my real enjoyment comes out of economic and aesthetic aspect of the game, building a really efficient colony that's also beautiful.  I play through the parts of the game that Tynan probably considers "the game", then after that I build river causeways, Smaug-like treasure rooms, balconies, casinos, hotels, throne rooms, swimming pools, art galleries, indoor or outdoor gardens, whatever random thing I can think of on that day once the colony is basically secure from all threats.

Ive never gotten to this point, but ever since the world map and caravaning was introduced and Ive always harbored a desire to try and destroy every pirate base on the planet.

Just establish a big smokeleaf farm, get good relation with as much factions you can (even though I'm terrible at that). Living a dream.

Another cool idea that is on my to do list is survive every biome for 2 years. Every 2 years I will be forced to move to a different biome. After landing there I can only stay there for two years no matter the condition of my colony in that time. Although I can stay at my first base location for up to 3 years to get primary gear and food ready.
