So my game can't progress, since three wooden blocks didn't build correctly when I was building my structure. "Once everything is built, I'll send an attacker to test your defenses!"

They just keep mining, hunting and researching three or four days later, with three gaping holes in the wall of their house. [see pic]

... so RTFM isn't my strong suit   ::). Please disregard first message:

CIRCUMSTANCES: Tutorial mission, just finished laying sandbags (scroll to the right of the image posted above)

ACTUAL EVENT: Sandbags were laid, but the building wasn't finished due to "construction botched". I believe the wolf (dog?) was walking through the building at that point, and my guy just skipped that section. Couldn't go back and tell him to finish, because each new step in the tutorial doesn't allow you to do anything else except that exact action.

EXPECTED: Tutorial progresses (attackers sent)

(would include savegame, but max file size is 1000kb and my savegame is 6881kb)

Your colony has no wood to do the construction.  Does it allow you to cut trees to get more wood?

edit.  I see you've marked some trees for cutting.  Maybe check if anyone in your base is capable of, and assigned to, the 'plant cutting' job (In the Work tab at the bottom).

Thanks for the reply- I moved on and redid the tutorial because it was far faster, and moving step by step worked like a charm.

Because this was particularly frustrating :-[ >:( :'(, I DID keep a copy of the savegame. Stopping "garter" from mining and refocusing him entirely on plant cutting JUST did the trick. If I had assigned a few less trees to be cut down earlier in the tutorial, it would have remained stuck.
