If your reading this your either curious of what this thread is about? Or your just like me and want to experience true hell in the Rimworlds. So you have come to find the Hottest or Coldest seeds to test your skills or to have fun with. Please share your finds with us and I will update forum.

Note:I'm still going to be taking updates for this forum. In fact I was slacking a little and
just updated it now. And I will be playing 1.0 for several months. So please if you know of any hotter or colder
seeds for 1.0 please feel free to post them still. Otherwise we can now work on 1.1!

Below are the Coldest and Hottest I have found so far. I will update these if others post about Colder/Hotter landing sites. I have done a fair bit of searching but I have only just started. I will work on this for a while. Please anyone post any world record temps you find.

Notes:
1. I don't think Rainfall meter changes the temperature. I used same seed and found same landing site. With 100% the same temp with both Min and Max Rainfall Setting. Knowing this will make it easier.

2. At first Seeds may only contain things in Fahrenheit because the game rounds temperatures up or down I think. So Fahrenheit is
easier for me personally to find and record the info. Than at a later time 5 minutes later or 1 day later I use the page below to translate into Celsius most of the world knows Celsius more. Including me I'm Canadian.

This page may be updated from time to time.
I am implementing a new aspect to this forum. This second page here is going keep or reserve special landing sites that Fit into the Hot and Cold but have different main game play aspects or perhaps very cool seeds that I just like. I'm only going to keep a minimal amount of info here so it's not overloaded. This is just a start and I don't expect a lot of seeds to find there way here.

For starters I'm going to have a new catagory Coldest with mountains... So it can still be an Ice Sheet but flat is not allowed. This is because sometimes the very coldest is flat! And I personally don't like playing on flat. So because of this new categories will appear.

I'm proud to announce we have found a new Coldest Seed that is now the new record perhaps in all of Rimworld. Even if you go back as far as a13ish or B18... This still takes the cake! Of course for all I know may be some hidden post or some lets play with someone who has found lower. I'm always after the lowest. But this is a break though.

P.S I also added a second page to be updated to this forum were I'm going to have Coldest/Hottest seeds in different Biome/Terrains. Finally for those of you who use C. Eventually I'm going to add both F and C to all the finds. But not always right away. I use C in real life. But I find F easier within Rimworld to search for seeds. I do a whole bunch of searching... post the results in F... later when I have time I use google to translate to C.

I was going to start playing on the hottest seed here. But I don't want to do a non-outside farming run right now. So that will be another day.

New Update... A new record for hottest was found. As well as hotter variations for multiple Biomes. In fact various Biome updates are hotter than the previous record. I searched for hours today. I have been focusing on Hottest for a while. Now I think it's time to focus on coldest. Soon I hope to update the coldest possible seeds in the next week. This is getting harder and harder as soon I'm not sure it's even possible to exceed it!

Are you talking about finding new locations or the existing ones? In either case no Vanilla feature allows you to search. So yeah once you learn how the cords work it's not to difficult to find any location if you know the seed and Cords etc. However looking for locations for the first time was REALLY tricky and time consuming. About three weeks ago I found this mod. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=34592.0;topicseen

It does allow you to search and find various cords and has a filter. I'm not a pro with the mod. And I only use it to help find seeds to post here. And it works for that. It may help you locate one of these seeds if your having trouble finding them.

I searched for about 3+ hours for Hot and Cold seeds and could not beat any of the existing records. I have not given up yet. But it is getting harder.

Unless a mod messes with how Seeds work or World Gen works or directly change the temperature somehow. Than no mods will not change the possibilities of the temperature or RNG. I use a mod pack of over 70 mods and I get the same Seed results as no mods. But if you find a mod that changes the temperatures in a weird way without it being obvious that it does. Let me know. I will leave a special clear permanent note in the main post of any wacky mods that change this sort of thing without being obvious.

Remember when trying to find these coldest or hottest seeds. Not only do you need the correct world size 100%. And Correct Seed. You also need to change the temp sliders to the coldest or hottest depending on what your looking for. If your doing all that and still can't find one of these seeds. Please let me know. I can't promise to look into it right away. But when I see your post I will double check. I could always have made a mistake somewhere. But I try to double check before posting.

I found this when searching Google for cold rimworld seeds.  Since this is still being used for people looking on Google I thought it's a good place to keep future cold seeds we find below -80C.

I play cold seeds to keep the game challenging.  I found this one today:

Some nice finds 4myGod. I'm going to check out both seeds the first one I don't think breaks any of the records to be updated in my main post. But it's still great to keep track of really cold seeds like you pointed out. And we need variety. The second one you posted seems interesting I'm curious what it's MIN/MAX temps are too. I'm going to look up that seed in the next 24 hours if I remember and since it does have the coldest average temp it will likely end up updated in my main post.

Wow... 4myGod! Confirmed your coldest seed is true by checking in game and I found the cords and posted them. Your now on record for the lowest temp vanilla landing site for 1.0. That I know of? And if anyone else knows differently please let me know. Even if it's not your seed please post it and share your source if you know. Same for hottest etc.

This is awesome I looked hard for a few weeks for a new coldest seed back around 29-10-2018 and found none. So this is the first new find since than. Now I know you posted this a little bit ago so sorry I was slow to coming here and finding this and confirming and updating. So even if you don't see see any updates in the main post read the replies in this forum and people may have posted information that I have not gotten around too updating yet. It's updated now. 

Here is the grandfathered previous coldest seed. I'm updating both of my main posts so this seed won't be list anywhere else by me in this thread other than in this message right here. As it's no longer needed. But since this seed was listed here for so long and it may have featured in other peoples games. I don't feel like removing it completely from this thread.

Well everyone it looks like 1.1 may have changed seeds and how the temperature works. I think for 1.1 we need to start fresh. Either Tynan bumped the temps up or balanced it or these seeds are all invalid. Either way these seeds don't work in 1.1. But I believe we may no longer encounter seeds as cold as the legacy 1.0 seeds etc. Since I have had a hard time finding seeds as cold now in 1.1 I only did four seed checks. But I checked Xave seed and some of the records above that I posted and validated before and they don't work now. This means a new forum will need to be opened. I have less enthusiasm to search right now. I'm happy with 1.0 and plan to play for ages on 1.0. So if you still have 1.0 records to post please still do. I will still work on this forum. But I think I need to at least make a 1.1 forum. So people can post. But since I have less enthusiasm to keep up with it. I may not update it as often. But who knows.

I am loading 1.0 right now to see if Xave is correct and I will update this forum shortly.

Confirmed that 1.1 will need a new set of seeds. Also confirmed Xave is correct. I will be updating the data soon for main page. Good job Xave you now have the record for coldest for sure.
