I really like this game! I even plan to live stream it later today. But right now the lightning kills me. Is there something that can be done about this? It is really just the flashes, I do not mind the effect at all or the sound.

Probably a bit more impact than you wanted, but you could create a new scenario in which both types of thunderstorm are disabled from occurring.
