sharing downloads

When you buy the game, you get five downloads, are you allowed to give a friend one of the downloads or do they have to buy it themselves

Unofficially you have the ability to.  However, if you are interested in the growth of the game have them buy it for themselves.  Otherwise you are not rewarding Tynan for his work on the game.  He works very hard to keep it going and it would be very difficult if more and more people gave away free versions.

Yeah, please don't do this. If you share a PC you can share the game, but different people on different computers should each buy one.
