"More Trait Slots" is a pretty simple mod. It doesn't add new traits to the game, but it will work well with mods that do, as it allows you to configure the minimum and maximum number of traits that pawns will start with. It also adjusts the character display tab so that up to seven (or up to nine with a smaller font) traits can actually be seen.

Compatibility:

"More Trait Slots" can safely be added to or deleted from a game in progress, and shouldn't conflict with any other mods.

If you're using "EdB Prepare Carefully," you might see a warning message if you assign more traits to a pawn than the vanilla character tab would be able to display, but you can safely ignore that message. And you should have no other issues when using the two mods together.

Update:
Traits in the bio are now smaller and 7 can be listed. If there are too many "Incapable of" there might be some overlap.
My next attempt at this will probably re-scale all the text in the bio window's left side

I notice that pawns only have maximum of 3 Traits no longer how I adjust this bar in the mod settings? I set it to max 8. Still shows pawns spawn with 2-3 traits. Is this likely a mod conflict? I'm going to test it out. I will update this message when I find out.

Update-
It works perfectly. I made a mistake. It was not load-order or a mod conflict. After changing the mod settings I needed to close and open the game before starting a new colony. Thanks!

Not sure if this happens for anyone else, but if you console add traits it sometimes double adds the trait. Not sure if the stats stack, cause that would be cool :)

You mean the Dev Tool add trait? Yes that has forever sometimes accidentally doubled added traits for me. I was always user error. And i made the error more times than you believe. I save my game just before using it because it's very easy to double click or click twice. Or you think you missed but you did not so you click again. I'm going to test it out soon. Within the next hour. Because I use More Trait Slots and I have not yet used the Dev Tool with this mod yet. So I will let everyone know if I have the same problem. But it's probably user error as I have made this mistake a lot! But maybe not... be back soon.

Update: I added various traits to over 40 pawns. No duplicates. So this is either user error or you have another mod that is somehow causing this. Those are my best guesses.

Update:
Changing the trait count settings will take effect without needing to restart the game.

Added a text entry field to override the number of maximum traits that can be applied to pawns. The max value is the number of traits available. Do know, though, that the game's trait logic is not efficient and will really slow the initialization of world at around 25-30 min traits.

I'm getting ally mods update. Nearly 30 mods makes it time consuming  ;)
