Check out the Items_Food.xml inside the ThingDefs_Items Folder within the Core Mod Folder...

You check out the Code how it does it with Notepad++... For use in Templates for your Food...

Besides what food are you trying to add? Spaghetti, Burgers or Potato Chips?
