Old saves (and worlds) are almost never going to work for a new alpha, for future reference. If you have a game you particularly want to finish, you should do so before you download the new alpha.

That's not a problem. I'll finish it on my previous version, then i'll try to create similar characters and land in boreal tundra. So, with some imagination i'll try to continue my space-crash adventure. :)

Hello! I have recently purchased RimWorld, and while trying to get to run, I cannot seem to get the window or any indication of the game runnung. The game will not open at all, I am confused as to why, I have followed the install instructions, though the game still does not open. Any help on this matter is welcome.

Fatty you tried this? https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=7886.0

If so, can you please provide more info?
-Operating system
-Exactly what you're doing and seeing (e.g. double clicked RimWorld657Win.exe, window appeared, it is black).

I didn't paste this twice just to let you know...

I have just uninstalled all RimWorld content from my pc, and Reinstalled it using the guide you linked, and tried starting the game up again. The same result - No window or any sign of the game trying to open itself and my Task Manager says the application is open, but, again, no window or indication of the game opening. I am confused, and I hope there is some way to fix this problem, if you know of any, if not, maybe this is a freak error that has only happened to myself.
again, running Windows 8.1 and having problems unknown to my understanding.

Can you post the entire log please?

Is this what you need?

The log looks like it's cut off. Does it really just end like that?

Did you close the game before sending it?

You have to run the game, close it, then post the log.

Its alright now, I have fixed it. My PC did not start up properly, and after a quick restart, everything seems to have fixed itself. I apologize for any trouble I may have caused you, and thank you for your patience in trying to help me figure out a problem that I did not notice earlier. You are a wonderful developer and I thank you for the many hours I will sink into this game :P

For some reason I think of Mr. Burns. I wonder why.
I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. - Myself
