SO last time i played rimworld, it was during b17.... so i guess it is now b19/1.0???
I just watched b18 and b19 info from tynan's youtube channel and have an idea on whats new to the game

1) So is rimworld going to benefit from being installed in a SSD?? i would love to hear the experiences of those who installed this game in a ssd
- technically any games should benefit from being installed in a SSD, but only a few would take advantage of it(BF4, witcher 3, gta5 to name a few)

2) when is version 1 or the game's official release going to comeout???

3) what mods(especially the most popular ones) are now considered obsolete or not needed anymore due to having similar features in b18/b19???
  - i noticed that any bridge related mods are likely not needed anymore, since they are added in the game.. also history mod, if i recall, is now in b19

4) So how is the game in largest maps, especially with large colonies, now that 64bit versions are added??
- i remember while in  b17, i played on largest map.. i have around 42 colonists, and everytime a raid drops, game would freeze for nearly 20minutes.. so i assume back then the reason why i would freeze is coz game was only 32-bit

Canute

1. The loading times from a good SSD are mosttimes improved, special on smaller files. And Rimworld is full of small files.
But Rimworld don't just need to load it, it need work with it, parsing through all these XML and code lines.
So a faster PC helps more then just only a SSD.

2. Standard answer, it is done when it is done.

3.https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=44011.0

4. Rimworld is still not optimized for Multicore/multithread so don't await any improvent in that way.
Only the typical "out of memory" issue get removed with the 64 bit version.

thnx for the infos, especially the link to that obsolete mods..

although im still sad that rimword didn't got multicore/thread support... that would have been awesome..

one wish i would love to see on rimworld someday is multicore support... i bet it would greatly give performance boost for the game..

anyways, so i've been playing on my desktop and not on my laptop with rimworld and here are my experiences:

- campaign is currently on largest vanilla sized map i can play.
- colony members: 14 adults, 2 young kids, 3 babies under 2yrs old.
- i have rimworld currently installed on a crucial mx500 ssd.
- loadtimes i get booting from desktop to laptop is around 13minutes and 35 seconds.
- my save gets loaded around 3 minutes. my current campaign is around 70days old.
- whenever visitors, trade caravans, raids (around 40 enemies) game kinda hangs up for around 1minute(not fully timed, since i haven't clocked how long when someone else comes into my colony); i remember on my laptop 100+ raid enemies, game freezes for ~20 minutes, which i thought the game froze entirely.
- my fps is around 30ish, and sometimes dips into 10's when i bring the camera to certain parts of the game. raids fps is around 30ish as well
