a teleportation machine

it would be very nice if you could hear a teleport technology.
example your army of peasants enters a machine in its main base and leaves in a machine installed by its caravan next to the raider camp.
the possibilities are endless ::)

A teleportation machine seems a bit powerful, but interesting. Maybe if it was something expensive and permanent. You would only be able to use it to link two colonies and each one has to have one. Maybe each would cost 50 advanced components?
Remember that enemies get turned into hats, colonists get turned into chemfuel unless they are a pyro then they get to burn alive.

I don't know if that belongs into the vanilla game, but it works as a mod as a very powerful tool from getting into one place into another in large maps...

But my goodness! Do you know how much work is to get those 50 advanced components?! :o

Keep in mind, for mod territory, this is completely fair game....people make weird and wacky mods all the time.

For vanilla rimworld, the lore establishes some quite realistic limits in the tech available in the game...one of them is no Faster Than Light travel, and also heavily implies that travel needs to be physical...as in you move yourself through all the intervening space from point A to point B...hence spaceship travel.  A teleporter kind of implies either FTL or near lightspeed travel, and even if not, if teleportation existed, why would ship travel exist?

It's a safe bet that Tynan isn't going to add anything into his base game that counters the established lore and rules that his universe is built on.

imo, telerportation would be brokenly OP, unless it comes with significant drawbacks, such as potential telportation failures, possible events that can have catastrophic implications, or other risks you might expect from traveling from A to B instantly.

Also, this *does* goes against RimWorld's lore. A massive part of the story is that FTL technology was never discovered, which is why nobody's coming to rescue you, and why rimworlds existed in the first place. Now, this doesn't make it a bad idea, modding this in would work fine, as mods aren't expected to follow lore anyway.
