HELP- Mouse xbuttons not working with Royalty

Hey so as the title says, my mouse wheel stopped working so i mapped scroll up and down to the third and fourth button on my mouse which worked with the previous iteration of Rimworld. It seems the new version doesn't recognize the buttons (I tested it on my browser, still working - and switching scroll up and down to the key up and down and reremapping)

I know this is fresh out of the oven but if anyone has some ideas for fixes I'd appreciate! (Short of buying a new mouse, it's on the list it's just really out of the way).

For anyone who's ghetto like me, and determined to play the new expansion immediately with a frenetic mouse - I tried remapping via the config no bueno, and AHK wasn't working which I initially used in vanilla - but the program in this link did https://steamcommunity.com/app/91310/discussions/0/792924412381617739/
I just set xbutton 4 as scroll up, and 5 as down and it fixed it.
