RimWorld 1.1.2552 fails to start - Arch Linux

My newly purchase RimWorld 1.1.2552 Linux just crashes. There does not appear to be anything to point to what the issue is. Or at least the /tmp/rimworld_log file does not seem to provide any clue. I have attached it though I think something else needs to be done to get to why the game crashes immediately. The X-window blinks once and the message on the console states:

No idea what 3691 Aborted means.

I am running ArchLinux fully patched with latest Nvidia video drivers with GX980 Ti card. Please note that I purchased the DRM free game from Ludeon directly. I do have Steam and it runs normally. I thought that since Steam starts and runs City Skylines, Garry's Mod that the RimWorld DRM free version should work too so I purchased the game and the new Royalty add on.
I have deleted the extracted folder, re-download the archive twice (no check sum to verify if the download was successful, why not?), extracted fresh each time, deleted the configuration folder each time just to be sure, tried the -force-opengl trick and still I cannot play nothing at the moment. Still instant crash without any logs that I can find that would help in anyway. So frustrated...
What other trouble shooting procedures can one do to get to the bottom of the instant death?
What library dependencies are required? Maybe one of the libraries is too new or something...
Not sure not to post for software versions so I will start with the Nvidia video driver version that is installed since it is the version of opengl on my system.

same here, it works fine before the update, after i bought the expansions it doesn't work anymore.

im on arch, i tried different kernel, lts, zen different gpu driver and still not working, my other game works fine though, hopefully this would be fix i bought the expansion for nothing

Same issue on Gentoo, I have not played Rimworld for a couple version, bought the expansion and tried to launch, but it doesn't work. Here is my /tmp/rimworld_log:

I have tried reinstalling and unsubscribing from and deleting all mods.

I managed to get the native (Steam) version working again by explicitly setting it to use the Steam Linux Runtime in its properties (where you can also select the Proton version).

For anyone who still have that issue and googled this topic, I had similar problem and solved it by running Rimworld with apulse. Not 100% if that is something to do with actual pulseaudio since same Rimworld runs fine w/o apulse on my other machine with virtually identical Gentoo Linux and the only difference I found is that machine that runs it w/o apulse has single ALSA sound card and machine where Rimworld crashes has two.
