Hi guys, I'm happen to like this game a lot.
Currently I'm using my work laptop to play this game, I'm using HP Spectre with this specs :
Processor : Intel i7-7500U @ 2.70GHz
Memory : 8GB
No dedicated GPU.

In the early game the average FPS is 50-60, but now when I have a bigger base and using a couple of mods, the frame rate going down to 20-40 FPS.

So, I'm thinking to buy some cheap gaming laptop.
What comes in mind is Acer Nitro 5 with this spec :
Processor : i5-8300H
Memory : 8GB
GPU : GTX 1050 4GB

Do you guys think this laptop will enough to play Rimworld with constant 60FPS ?

I have a similar laptop
Acer Aspire vx5-591g
  i7-7700HQ
  GTX 1050ti
  16gb ram
works well is a good experience, better more consistent fps with the 1.1 update too!
play around with using the nvidia graphics vs intel these computers processor and gpu are on the same heatsink, you may get better fps on intel due to thermals.
if you feel comfortable with it you can undervolt your processor as well helps gaming laptops from thermal throttling.
You will never get a guaranteed 60fps, if i push Rimworld it will bring my powerful gaming desktop to its knees.

( EDIT:forgot some things
i installed a 120hz panel in my laptop, playing vanilla rimworld i believe i get over 60fps until my colony gets very large
pro tip turn the fps monitor off and enjoy ;D )

Hmm, I think yours is better than what I want  ;D
But thanks for the reply, I don't mind if the FPS drop to 30, at least no lower than 30.

I connect my old 22 inch monitor so I can play better, but my old monitor only 60hz.

I think Acer Nitro 5 will be good enough, just need to upgrade the ram, and added some SSD.

It would be better if others could share what theirs spec and FPS that they get for playing RIMWORLD. Thanks btw.

Actually no your cpu would be the main limiting factor of RimWorld i am sure and the i5-8300H is at least on par maybe a little better than my i7-7700HQ.
if you keep your windows installation lean 8gb ram will not matter, you will get great fps with this setup.

( EDIT: and the 1050 is way overkill for RimWorld my 1050ti doesnt break a sweat running @ 1440p on an external monitor )

I would only add - if you are going to play mainly rimworld on said laptop, good idea is to buy better intel CPU and skimp on graphic as its very underutilized in rimworld.

I say Intel and definitely not AMD because it has better single core clock speed and ram access time.

As for RAM, my heavily modded game take around 1.6-1.7 GB of it, so you should be good. A bit on a skimp size because with chrome open my system take total of around 7.5gb. A bit tight but still perfectly usable with 8gb of said laptop.

Wow... Chrome really has become bloated ???.  My FF install, with anywhere from 40 to 60 tabs constantly open (with online manga sites) for days, consistently uses 1-2 GB (counting all processes) .

That said, vanilla RW will run on a not-very-well-baked potato decently enough.  Once you get over 50-100 mods or so, however, you're going to need a lot more CPU "oomf".
Thanks, belgord!

RimWorld about 70-something mods 720mb
Microsoft Edge Chromium 4 tabs 150mb
im using Razer Chroma bloat as well
total usage around 5.7gb

use win10Debloater if you want to free up memory https://github.com/Sycnex/Windows10Debloater
also make sure you disable backround apps you dont use in system settings

Edge is flaming green monkey poo, sorry.  Rather, it's a bonfire of green monkey poo :P.

Disabling background apps can have small benefits, yes, but Win10 is actually quite good at managing RAM and keeping it from fragmenting.  An external program is superfluous, at best, and actively harmful, at worst, because it subverts one of the main ways Windows keeps your OS running quickly (caching recent data).
Thanks, belgord!

Soulshade

win10Debloater is not a program it is a script you can run to delete uninstallable microsoft programs you dont use and deactivate cortana which is a resourch hog, it has nothing to do with caching recent data.
I last tried Firefox on Windows about a year ago but when i tested it it used more memory than Chrome and the old Edge, on Linux it used a little less memory than Cromium. There is no one magical browser that has an extrememe performance advantage over the other.

Bozobub

It isn't about performance.  Edge is a security dumpster fire, put charitably.
Thanks, belgord!

Soulshade

Windows in general is a security dumpster fire i would avoid Windows, mac OS, Android, and iOS if you are concerned about security i would suggest Tails Linux and TOR browser

Bozobub

a) Adding insecurity to insecurity is not a recipe for success.  I've had to clean too many systems using both Edge and Chrome, point of fact.

b) Linux does not have the games I play, in general, and TOR is both slow AND does not provide the security we are referring to.  I'm not worried about external monitoring, I'm worried about direct internal security on my PC.

Edge is a prime vector for malware into your system.  Enjoy, I guess?
Thanks, belgord!

Soulshade

firefox does not protect against malware the security mozilla strives for is that same external monitoring you are referring to.

Bozobub

Edge and Chrome are the two easiest browsers to infest, in my experience.  Furthermore, Chrome is VERY difficult to repair if/when it is compromised.
Thanks, belgord!
