[1.1 royalty]colonist did not return after going on a quest to the royal colony.

I sent a colonist off on a quest to visit the royal colony for about 7 days and they never returned, given the shuttle either didn't have anywhere to return at the time, due to a mix of debris after being attacked or fire destroying buildings and windmills. my characters m.i.a still and I got the reward but that's no replacement for a colonist. I am now down a colonist with a naked brutality start.
the events that caused the issue as follows: colonist went off on the quest, over the 7 days I had 8 attacks in a 12'20 area and the rest of the map is covered in meteorite spawns, this was gonna be a challenge run of sorts. The shuttle just never returned and i never recovered my colonist even after clearing out enough space to recover them, I am now down a colonist and out an attempt at an almost glorious start to a challenge run.
