[1.1.2624 64-bit] Mac version kernel panic, returns me to system login

Hi all... I've been back playing a lot recently and each time I'm just getting into a heavy session, the game freezes up, holds for about 10-20 seconds, then scrambles my screen and kicks me back to the Mac login screen. When I log back into my account, all my programs have closed and Rimworld attempts to auto-restart (but with Steam not re-opening). I also can't relaunch a lot of my programs and it looks like they're still open in Activity Monitor, but won't actually show. (Google Drive doesn't re-mount, for example).

Nothing strange starts it, but I have a feeling it could be tied to autosaves? Sometimes when I load RimWorld back up, I've lost almost no progress— even though I'm on permadeath.

There are no real steps to re-create per se... It's mainly just playing for a while until it happens. It could be my set up, my mods or something else.
