[1.1] letters "r" and "c" missing on mac

Hello, I'm reporting this bug again because it's existed since 1.1 and makes the game unplayable for mac users with mods. I reported the issue on the Mod Bugs page twice since Feb 2020 which helped confirm the issue but without bringing any solutions: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=50524.0

Basically what seems to happen is that with any combination of mods on a mac (even without UI or language mods), the letters "r" and "c" disappear making the game unreadable.
Many of the people who noticed the bug have concluded that the issue comes from the game and not the mods themselves.
It would be lovely to finally find a solution especially since there are still regular updates and fixes to 1.1

Weird! I couldn't reproduce the issue though. Some questions which would help us figure out what's going on here: Does it happen for any particular mods, or all? How often does it happen? Is it 100% reproducible? How much RAM do you have left? Is it on Catalina?

I am using El Capitan & I've run the game with 8 and 16GB ram and had the issue.
I use a lot of asset mods, mainly from the Vanilla Expanded mods and stuff like hairstyles & clothes.

From what i've experienced it can happen with any mix of mods but it's more likely with the ones that add a lot of new things (animals, clothes, furniture for example). Again what's really weird is that they all work fine individually or when only a few are loaded but there seems to be a non consistent cap after which it breaks.

But just for more visibility: Try the BetterLoading mod.  It seems to have sorted out the problems I've been having with RimWorld Mac ever since 1.1/Royalty dropped, including missing letters and black graphics.  This is on RimWorld 1.2, MacOS Mojave, with a massive modlist.
