Some Finds of shell layer

When I was making armor mods, I found that I can cover the non-conflicting positions on ONE layer, For example you can create shoulder armor cover shoulder and plate armor cover Torso, and they both are shell, they can show together. But I can't decide the TEXTURE of front-to-back relationship between the shoulder armor and the plate armor. Is there any code can control this or it just random?

As far as I'm aware there's no existing code to control this behaviour
It's not entirely random either, though. The order depends of which item was worn first

for example, if you were to equip the shoulder pads first and then the chest plate, the shoulder pads would be rendered on top of the chest plate (could actually be other way around, this is just based on my memory ;D)
