As said I would, I was gonna work on the G36K. It's still in progress, gonna sleep cause I have to wake up 0830 to clean rifles and pistols all day long. Oh yeah.

And no the magazine isn't an image, it was painted over as well with the eyedrop tool being used heavily
EDIT: Correction, the small plastic "hole" near the rounds on vector art hasn't been painted over yet so that stuff is part of the image, big oof.
Almost got in trouble today. Took command of the stack (the entry team) in CQB for a live fire on target run through and one target was behind a door we opened, did a 180 spin and shot point blank with an SA80 that immediately hit a Staff Sergeant holding the door for me in the shoulder. This was a simmunition that hit him, "WHAT THE FUCK?!" is what you hear through ear defenders while a room full of fully kitted out trained soldiers stare at me. I'm still trying to process whats going on cause my heart is pounding having to clear multiple rooms, being assessed by the DS and having to lead guys with higher ranks than me and initially doing pretty okay. Didn't know what was going on till I was told I just did a blue on blue and shot someone, epicly missing a target point blank while also flagging friendlies in the room.
The rifle missed as it pivoted to the target, the shot was rushed in hip fire and missed by centimeters. Did not feel good about that. Went to apologise "Hey Sergeant, I'm sorr-" and he's all "First of all, it's Staff Sergeant. Second of all, it's alright I get it. We're in a learning environment but if you do that again you'll get the butt end of this fucking rifle" he said in a joking tone, yet I believe part of that was said with some meaning behind it. Just had my head down rest of the day like a sorry puppy with guys now nicknaming me "Rambo". Promoted from "Papa John" smuggling pizzas in phase 1 to being called "Rambo" cause I "shot enemies without hesitation even if he flags a room full of friendlies". Hey it was funny for everyone else and I was being reassured it's a common mistake but I still felt awful. Let's just say I got the payback during the time I played enemy, got shot everywhere. I was already dead and guys would unload magazines on my legs while I'm dead "just to make sure"
(partly because I played dead a lot and would pull out a Glock on people and they knew that). You felt the most pain from legs with simmunition besides the hands and arms cause they had less protection than the rest of your body. It was all in good sport but again, still felt terrible cause I have that personality of dwelling on mistakes. We all had a laugh in the end and guys from the back of the stack, having not shot anything just popping rounds on us dead bods. Something something Geneva Convention.
Gotta clean the weapons we used tommorrow morning with everyone else and I'm here doing a G36K cause I can't sleep at 3am and something is bothering me.
/endex ("end of exercise" said after every exercise. Inside joke, top funny)
Edit again: Just to add, Staffy tapped me on the shoulder when he saw I had my head down later on and said "Hey bud, I appreciate you coming to apologise to me. Don't worry about it. It happens to all of us, I've done it myself when I was new." to get me back up from my little corner. I hope he didn't come across as a bad guy up there cause he didn't hold grudges after.
Was surprised cause if this happened in basic or phase 2, I'd get worse than a little joke and a few nicknames, I'd probably get work parade and some other punishment to be made an example of.
I'm not sure about this idea really. If the fee is too big, then it'll be pointless to purchase stuff here, since it will not just cost more in the end but will also be damaged already. Need to be careful with numbers. The armor, well, I'm not a big fan of vanilla style. Camouflage part makes sense though, I guess. Good luck on your training and don't get shot in the head - you'll need that part for later.
Could always reduce the fee to something else or just have no fee. Rimbay is always online so long as there's power and a comms console so that's its advantage over any other trader. I did get shot in the head, face and eyes from these lads but GSR and helmet made me feel none of that. You feel it on your arms and legs most cause they have the least layers in terms of clothing, so they aimed for that if they wanted to get cheeky. I got double tapped by 3 guys with half a mag of C8 for doing a last stand with a pistol after getting shot in the leg. Good times.
I find your stories interesting( also to read how other armed forces do their stuff)
Regarding the shopping mod idea: I use a system roughly like that but it gives me x amount of specific item from your weapon mod f.e but with random quality. A system like yours where I can specifically order item x in y quality is neat. In the end, it all depends on the price and your liking of the mod I guess.
Question on the side: how far/much issued is the virtus kit?
Happy you do bro, when I screw up badly (like I did above) I find some peace in venting it out here in the forums, I find it funny later when I read it back.
Rimbay - item qualities will be randomised cause vanilla already does that.
VIRTUS prices? I don't know. It's a full package. Helmet, daysack, battle belt, body armour, NVG counter weight and I don't know what else but things like helmet extender for the GSR. It's very ally stuff coming in MTP made by "Source" company. Seems exclusively made for the British Military. Nobody else can order the stuff. If you see anything in Ebay that's VIRTUS it's
probably stolen from QMs (Quartermaster) or whatever. We have to return all VIRTUS and expensive stuff like Peltors with microphones, drop leg holsters and even the Osprey Bergens when we leave the service for someone else to use.
Note on body armours: Have considered it, may redo them all because I don't like how Briggs doesn't like it and I want it done right. Especially because I realised the magazine pouches on 5.11 TacTec is on the right side of the plate carrier, when most of the ally bods I see have the mag pouches on their left side since you are told never to take your main hand off the pistol grip (commonly the right hand). To those who don't know why, it's in case an enemy shows up, you can still have your hand near the trigger instead of having to flap about and possibly get filled in
