So I'm going to be sending an email to the mailing list when the Kickstarter opens. But there are about 1100 people on that list and growing; I don't think I can do that with the bcc field in my gmail.

Does anyone know a good way to send an email to a ton of people at once? Thanks in advance.

No, but according to the dictionary of numbers Chrome extention, 1100 people [≈ population of Jamestown, capital city of Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha]

Little factoid there.

Awesome, thanks Jake.

Hmm, I wonder if there's a way to get it to come from ludeon.com. Except I haven't even touched that part of the domain yet.

Will figure out.

I'd recommend checking out MailChimp. As long as you can verify your domain there, it looks like the emails will come from @ludeon.com. I think it's free until you start emailing more than 3,000 people per month.

I suggest MailChimp too, very easy to get by when sending newsletters for the first time, basic stats of opened/clicked, should suffice at that point :)

Another way is to make a program for sending massive mail (I made one long ago with VB.Net)

Edit:

There are many options on the market, many free and very good.
Searching the net I found adequate to your needs, as you can send both emails and marketing management:
