How does dyeing of apparel work in Rimworld from code perspective?

I don't quite understand how Class="ColorGenerator_Options" works. How does it decide which part of sprite to change? How will it dye a modded apparel for example?

it picks from one of the given options and just colours the entire texture, modded or no

there are some textures that have separate masks with them that determine which parts have no colour like the royalty apparel
