There's any plans for the future to add human reproduction and babies? As it is now the colonists are all incapacitated at a fundamental level, you can't role play as a forming society of any kind because is missing something essential.
All the wealth, all the titles and the power that comes from them are meaningless without children, that are the purpose and goal of every community, without which no drive to achieve them is formed.

There are mods that add this. The base game won't add this for two reasons:

First, Rimworld colonies do not exist for the time frame required for this. Even if we take the very generous view that a 10 year old can work like an adult and assume the best case scenario where a colonist is impregnated in the first season, that's 11 years from game start to a colonist planting their first healroot.

How many colonies have you had that lasted this long without destruction, winning, or simply deciding to start a new game? If the answer is more than zero, you're in a minority.

Second, Rimworld involves a lot of nasty things. A moral player will have to deal with raids, disease, famine, rabid elephants, and all manner of dangers. People are uncomfortable when this happens to children- for good reason.

Immoral players will eat the babies and wear them as hats. Media backlash aside, this is enough to push the game into Adult-Only rating and potentially get it pulled from Steam.

Don't even start on the fact that if there are pregnancies, there will be unwanted pregnancies.

Don't really have investment in this generally, but in regards to the second point, all sorts of things can already happen to adolescents. If PR is the concern, then that sort of assumes that teenagers getting murdered, etc. wouldn't already be enough for backlash.

It wouldn't be the same, not even close.
