Mechanoids not tagging along with Farskip

So, I knocked over some village in the world, and I'd finally gotten around to leveling a Skipmaster, so of course I was going to just teleport back home. I gathered all of my mechs up tight into the area of effect, activated farskip, and...it only transported my pawns, not the mechanoids. I was able to send their controller right back via pod and drudged back to my base, but still.

Is this intended behavior? If so, it makes farskip a lot less valuable, because I do all my raids with ~6 scythers and 6 lancers, and I was really hoping I could avoid walking home every time.
