Greetings :) I'm going to be writing this fiction fan story based on this game... some things aren't going to match as up game seeing as... I don't have it =)) Don't kick me out yet please... take a seat, enjoy my story, I'm going to write a log per day in game time for a while, then I'll start skipping weeks so I don't end up having to write every day for a year for the colony anniversary. (If there's a way to add a spoilers bubble in this forum please tell me so, it'll make things much easier and I'll just edit the main thing rather than replying a new chapter)

Character Backstory:

1){  RE
Coma child
"A childhood accident put RE into a coma. He didn't wake up until he/she was in his late teens. His body never recovered from the years of inactivity, but people tend to take pity on him when they hear his story."

Medieval lord
"RE was a lord on a industrial planet. He went to parties, managed the underlings, and even learned some swordplay.
His soft hands did not hold a work tool during that entire time. He considers manual labor to be beneath him."
}

2){ Wej Jerolz (Wej pronounced as Wey)

Caveworld tender
"WJ grew up in a cave complex deep beneath the surface of an inhospitable world. He worked with the children tending the tribe's fungus crop."

Colony settler
"WJ was a settler on a new colony world.
Such a life requires a jack-of-all trades at basic hands-on tasks."
}

3){ Silvana Meres

Medieval slave
"Silvana grew up pulling carts and digging holes on a medieval world. Simple manual labor is her oldest companion - along with the master's leash.
She didn't learn to read until age nine."

Courtesean*
"Silvana was used for her body by hundreds of customers in brothels on several planets. She gained some mental marks and a special kind of street smarts."
}

Captain's Log, Day 1.
1st of May, Year 1 (Since arriving on the planet)

My name is... not important... the two people that decided to follow me just call me RE, or Captain... I am the one that started this "mission"... with our goal to make a new home on this planet...

Our landing pods crashed in the northern part of the main continent... this is a frozen land, with a few patches of grass... we land in a valley next to a river coming down from a nearby mountain... as all our provisions crash, I get up and look around the area... Trees seem to have adapted to survive to this frozen wasteland, with other different bushes that hold what seem to be local fruit...

"WJ, you should go and cut down some trees until we freeze to death... Silvana, please help me haul the resources next to the nearby mountain. We don't have enough resources to build a standing structure yet, we shall dig our home for just now..."

"Yes Sir" they both say in unison...

I've met Wej... WJ in a tavern after I've left my home planet... I loved that place... I was a King over a big  region but... it wasn't that... well... it's hard to explain...

As we move all the materials and the newly picked logs next to the side of a mountain, we start digging a doorway, then a hall... which shortly turns into the first room, the sun is in the middle of the sky...

And Silvana she... had a bad past... I saved her shortly after deciding to try and get the things needed to start a colony... she swore her life to me and until now... I didn't fail to give her a life at least better than she had.

We have our lunch as a snow storm starts outside. Although that means our food won't spoil anytime soon... it'll still be harsh...

"WJ, let's make a small camp fire in the middle of the room..." I say... we've dug what will be the entrance of our future colony into this rock which seems to be strong... We've prepared with clothes for any weather which is a good thing... although I see no animals moving outside our cave... with this weather I'm not surprised. This isn't good news... we'll have to try and find a way to farm in this...

"At least with this weather we know we won't have neighbours anytime soon" Silvana says while finishing the survival meals we have... eating on the cold stone floor isn't too good... but the fire makes the atmosphere better.

"I did gather a bit of wood but... there's not much outside. We'll have to plant and hope for the best" WJ tells me...

"Do you want to go out on this weather?" I ask.

"Indeed... Hopefully we won't find some haunted cave anytime soon" says WJ.

We did use some logs for this fire... but it'll stay light at least for the rest of the day... "We should make some beds" I say, following with "I hope you don't want separate rooms just yet".

"I don't mind sharing either a room or bed with you" Silvana says, to which Wej says in a worried voice: "I hope you two don't want some privacy... no way in hell I'm going out on this storm..."

After a few moments of silence we all laugh, after we start working and finish the beds we start digging a hallway... the storm soon ends and we get to see the sun set on the horizon... an orange sun...

"This is different from all the worlds I've seen..." Silvana says...

I guess should change the subject...

"Let's start making a small farm... whatever these fruits are... they're not poisonous, I saw a small white creature eat them after the storm ended while you were still digging..."

"Well we know there are animals... there won't be any hostile ones hopefully" WJ says...

We stay a bit outside after planting the farms and a few trees... the sky is filled with stars... it is indeed a beautiful view... We put some wood on the fire and get into our beds... we covered the entrance with some snow... hopefully an earthquake won't bury us here...

This is the beginning... This is...

"R'Akas" I say out loud...

"What?" Silvana asks me... while WJ is snoring... he really disliked the flight in space... was tired when we got here already and after cutting the trees... no wonder

"R'Akas shall be our colony's name..." I say...

And indeed it is...

Captain's Log, Day 2.
2nd of May, Year 1

WJ was the first to wake up... he uncovered the entrance to our cave and woke the rest of us up...

"Guys, look at this..." he said. Getting out of bed while letting out a big yawn I walk out of our cave... in front of us the moon is setting down... it is big, and has a smaller moon orbiting it...

"It looks gray" WJ says... "Do you think that there's life there?"

"I don't remember the scan results..." I say. "Maybe one day when we'll have advanced enough, we'll know..."

"It's beautiful..." Silvana says.

Now that we've woken up so early... we should start getting to work, after all we need to be self sufficient soon... "WJ and Silvana you should start digging the hallway deeper into the mountain... we'll start making our own rooms soon, and maybe a storage..." I tell both of them.

As they get to work I go outside stepping on the fresh snow that fell during the night... hearing the sounds of their drills breaking through rock... To my right there's a river... it's probably not frozen because it moves quite rapidly... it comes down from somewhere higher up in the mountain and goes a long way through this flat land, going downhill at some point probably... unless it just vanishes into the ground.

I walk through to some of the bushes that seem to grow here... these purplish fruits seem to be MADE for this type of biome... ripping one of them in half is quite hard, they have a solid interior with not much liquid and the seeds are many placed in the center. I walk towards a nearby tree and chop it down and start pulling it towards our cave... I'll have to build a small roof to protect the resources we have outside until we dig the storage space.

I cut another tree... pull it back to the cave and start cutting it down into planks and work on a cover for the outside storage area. WJ comes outside with a boulder tied to him, rolling it behind him as he walks.

"We've found some metal" he says.

"Good" I answer back. "We're going to need it in the future... if the mountain is rich in it, things will go better..."

"We've got to make a cooking table" he says "These survival meals aren't going to last long..." he continues as he moves the chunk of rock and metal in the storage area.

"And cook what?" I ask while laughing. "We'll probably live off jam made out of these weird fruits for a while... at least until we get farms made inside the mountain."

He lets out a gutural sound as he walks back in... The sun is at the top of the sky... this seems to be a day without major events...
After finishing the cover for the storage outside I take a few planks and stick them on the fire.

"Let's have lunch, shall we?" I yell. They did dig quite a lot of the hall, also a small entrance to the left... There will be Silvana's room...

They both go outside and grab their meals... we'll still have them to last us for about 3 days... They come and sit around the fire and start eating.

WJ starts speaking: "These taste much better than anything they served at that Imperial Tavern"

"That's because you actually worked before eating" I say in a happy tone of voice.

"You're saying that as if I didn't work on that Aers-7 Colony for the Empire..." he tells me back.

"Oh, and what did you work as?" Silvana asks.

"Erm... I... I forgot" he says in a matter of avoiding the discussion.

"Hahaha" I burst out laughing, and thne follow with: "He was a farmer for the empire on a new colony on a barren world. He grew cacti of many sorts, as to why his hands are scarred that he has to wear gloves."

Silvana starts chuckling.

"Hey now! Ugh..." Wej says looking at the floor awkward and taking a bite from the meat of his meal...

"It's alright..." Silvana says trying to comfort him.

I finish my meal and head outside, while saying back inside the room so they may hear me: "I'm going to plant a few saplings in this snow... or maybe I can find the dirt underneath it, then I'll start working on a solar panel... you should finish digging Silvanas room and then move the bed in there... maybe lay down some cables for tomorrow..."

As their drills once again start making the sound of rock-eating, I dig some small holes in the ground where I put some saplings from the trees I cut... then I lay down a base of metal plates, and start welding on a solar panel...

As the sounds of their drills stop, I as well finish making most of the solar panel. I'm not too good of a builder... and the start is closing in on the horizon, it'll start to set soon.

"Wej is back there cleaning... we also moved my bed... where do you want the wirings?" Silvana asks me coming out, the cold wind hitting the sweat on her forehead.

"Umm... from here inside the cave and through the hallway. We'll also need a light so we can stop wasting wood on that fire." I answer, then I ask her: "This is quite the slow progress is it not?"

"I don't know, " Silvana says, "I've not started a colony before..."

A weird noise can be heard from the distance, which makes WJ come out running of the cave yelling "I heard that! What's that?"

He steps outside and the three of us start walking... as we move past the trees we reach the end of the hill, and looking bellow at another valley we can see big creatures, with 6 legs and covered in black fur, they seem to be a herd of some type of herbivores...

"Cows?" WJ asks with a funny tone.

"Hah, I guess so" I tell him...

"The clouds... I think another storm is coming... we should get back to the cave..." Silvana says.

"Cave? No... Let's get back to our home... R'Akas" I say, followed by: "And maybe build a door... by tomorrow we'll have the power to have it open by itself."

The three of us start walking back home... the small entrance in the mountain isn't that easy to see... it just stands out from the dark gray rock and the white snow.

As we get inside, we build the door that we have to open and close manually for now... put some wood on the fire, we're getting quite low on wood, and watch the sun set before we go to sleep... Silvana goes in her room as we sleep in our beds that are still in the fireplace room.

"I hope it won't be too cold for her" I tell WJ

"Don't worry..." He says...

I fall asleep thinking about what we did today... we have a journey ahead of us...

Captain's Log, Day 3.
3rd of May, Year 1

I overslept today. They didn't want to wake me up, but they did when they started drilling... I open my eyes hardly, as if they were frozen

closed... Why am I so tired, especially since I slept more than anyone else...

"How are you feeling?" Silvana asks me, then yells inside the cave "WJ! He's awake!" The drilling sound stops, and Wej comes near me.

"How's your head friend?" he asks me, followed by "Silvana, bring some snow from outside".

Silvana heads outside the cave as Wej starts explaining me what happened during the night.

"So during the night, in front of our little home a weird machine fell from the sky... Silvana said it made a crashing noise that woke her up,

which is weird since..."

I intrerupt him finishing his sentence "Since she slept inside in her own room..."

"Indeed" Wej says, as Silvana comes with some snow in her hands.

"Here" she says, as she places the snow on my forehead while I lay back down on my back.

"I'm alright" I say

"You're not... it was a long night" she says.

"So that machine that fell from space?" I ask, and Wej answers me: "It was a mind control drone of sorts... it tried to do something to us but...

luckily not even a meteor could wake us up."

"When that thing fell from the sky I instantly woke up and ran outside" Silvana says, "when I got to it the outer shell was opened and a pole

was lifted upward, like an antena of sorts... When I returned to the cave you were both sleeping in your beds but you were shaking... I tried

waking you up with no success... so I just ran out and destroyed it..."

"Did you shoot it?" I ask.

"No, I used my drill" Silvana says...

"That's good that you didn't waste bullets but... if that thing would've fought back... don't get yourself in danger" I say

"Should've I let it to it's thing and take over your mind?" she asks in a serious tone.

After a moment of silence the three of us burst into laughter, and the snow falls off my face.

"Oh look it fell down... needed an excuse to get that off of me" I say as I get up from the bed... I do feel a bit dizzy.

"Take it easy..." WJ says. "You don't have much work to do today, we finished the solar panel and placed the wirings, although we didn't

start working on the lights yet we did dig a bit of my room on the right of the hallway.

"That's good... But I don't want to be just someone that eats the food and does nothing..."

"Oh but of course you can help!" Silvana says in a cheerful tone. "Just go and rip that machine apart while we keep digging..."

"Yes Ma'am!" I say while saluting.

As I turn around and leave through the door that opened by itself in a marching manner, I can hear both of them laughing inside the cave... I

should stop calling it cave... I guess I'll be calling it the main hall... So where is this thing... it must be nearby... I look around for a few

seconds and indeed see something out of place...

Getting close to it it seems to be... obviously not working. I guess Silvana did a good job. It's got a round shape at the base... I guess it was

encased in a protective material... Inside there's, erm, whatever's left of the transmission antenna... and... Yeah I'm just going to rip it apart

and carry it back... Also going past the farm it seems that these purple fruits are starting to grow... if it is a 3 days cycle it won't be that hard

to stock up a lot of them...

The sun is going to set down soon... today we're going to have our dinner outside... We've finished digging WJ's room and they say they

have a surprise for me...

We have some wooden chairs and made a small campfire... this'll be the last night we'll have this until we manage to grow the trees... but I

don't see why...

"You're not eating?" Silvana says, intrerupting my train of thoughts...

"I was just thinking..." I say with a small pause... followed by "It's just that... I barely did anything today... I don't want you two to look at me

like..."

I get intrerupted again. But this time by WJ.

"Stop thinking like that" he says as he sucks in the pasta from the survival meal. "It was a rough night. It took me a while to get back to my

own things as well... I guess you were more affected by it..."

More affected... truthfully I did have a weird dream...

I take a bite of the... erm... whatever food this is... It does taste good...

"Soo... about that surprise..." Silvana says.

"Yes?" - I ask her.

"We finished digging WJ's room and started going further on the hallway. At the end of it we were going to put your room but..."

"Go on..." I say.

"We discovered a room that was already there..." she says.

"In the middle of the mountain? Was there anything in it?" I ask.

"We don't know" Wej says, "we didn't look inside it. But we dug through a wall... it's still dark as heck... we'll let you explore... but we'll have

to make an entrace install the lights and move your bed in tomorrow."

"That sure makes up for the fact that I didn't dig at all... don't worry, I shall help you tomorrow... I promise..." I say as I finish my meal with

the sun starting to set...

"We have no batteries yet so it'll get dark... you'll be sleeping by yourself at the entrance... you want the rifle with you?" Silvana asks me.

"I guess so... but we don't have many bullets" I answer...

"Don't worry, I'll get you a promise as I said" WJ says as he finishes his meal.

Indeed... he swore in the tavern one day... although he was drunk when I rememberd him he said that he'll keep his word... he owes me a

sword...

We put out the fire and head inside, the solar panel no longer powers the few lights inside so it becomes dark soon... I take one of our last...

Well really, our LAST plank and put it infront of the door...

"At least if something tries to break in, it'll have a bit more work to do..." I say out loud to myself... Neither Wej or Silvana heard me...

I get in bed and close my eyes... I hope food won't become a problem...

#2
Captain's Log, Day 4.
4th of May, Year 1

I'm sitting at the pool... the sun is shining bright and there's a cold breeze that chills me in this hot summer day... It's such a great feeling...
Hmm? I hear something... it's... like a tapping...
"What's wrong honey?" a woman in a bathing suit asks me... Looking at her she's been sunbathing, it can be seen clearly in her skin tone.

"Nothing... it's... nothing" I tell her.

"Oh that's great..." she starts talking, "You know that we've come to this-" but her voice fades away, her lips keep moving but she says nothing. "Open up! It's freezing out here!" can be heard, quietly in the distance...

"I'm sorry, what?" I ask her.

"I hate it when you space out like that... Remember? We're here on holiday so you stop thinking about work and so that we can finally get to know eacothe-" her voice fades away again, as her lips move for a bit then she starts smiling, with her blonde hair resting peacefully on her shoulders and flowing down...

Tapping can be heard again... but this time louder... and then that voice again... "Hello? Are you alive? Wake up!"

Alive... wake up... wait, wake up? ... Asleep?

As I realize that I was in a dream I regain consciousness, am back in my bed in the main hall... the tapping is loud, there seems to be a person outside. As my eyes adapt to the light levels and things stop being blury, I get out of the bed and walk to the door... is it not morning yet? What's someone sane doing outside in the middle of the night... Oh, it seems that there's a snow storm outside...

I get the plank out of the way, grab the door and pull hard, opening it.

"Welcome traveler, to the colony of R'Akas!" I exclame followed by: "May I ask what you are doing here on this fine weather?"

"Move out of the way, I'm freezing!" the weird person says as he runs past me into the main hall. "And close the door!" he says.

He's a tall man... taller than me, besides wearing a lot of clothings and being half frozen, I look at him as he removes the snow that piled on him.

"It's cold here, let's make a fire!" he says, taking out a piece of fabric from a backpack that he held underneath the layers of clothing, he puts it down in the place where we light the fire before.

"Why are you staring like that at me. Hello?" he asks me. Oh, guess I was thinking and forgot to answer.

"Erm... Greetings. Who are you?" I ask.

"I'm Freddy, I crashed here not too many hours ago. And with my luck, a snow storm started." he says. "I've been running away from some pirates that don't know how to lose at poker... and that caught me cheating. I guess that this planet is barren enough... would you mind if I stayed in your colony? You said it's name was Rekas?"

"It's R'akas..." I say. "And I guess we could be taking someone in but you have to work for your food and..."

"Food? You guys have food? I'm STARVING!" Freddy says while intrerupting me...

"Yeah... it's outside in the storage... I'll go bring you a meal..." I say as I get up and open the door... Sheesh, we should've made some batteries...

We don't have that many meals... we have about 6 left... that means today and one more day... I guess we'll need to have a big farm since I doubt whatever fruits grow here will keep us from starving as much as these survival meals do...

I grab two meals and head back inside, seeing Silvana coming out from the hallway, having started a conversation with the newcomer.

"Hi! I'm Freddy!" he says in a happy voice.

"Greetings... what are you doing here?" Silvana asks, in a confused tone.

"Well it's a long story, but the short version is that I want to make this place my home! If you'll allo-" he stops as he notices me coming back inside, as I close the door behind myself.

"FOOD!" He says loudly. "Thank you Sir! I'm going to do good work Sir!"

"There there..." I say as I get near the fire and hand him his meal...

"Giving him food so easily? What if he'll kill us in our sleep?" Silvana asks me.

"I'm willing to take the risk... we'd use more people. More things can be done with another pair of hands" I say.

"So, Freddy..." I say as Silvana heads outside, probably to take her own meal.
"...What is your story, besides gambling. How would you be of benefit to R'Akas?"

"I'm a builder" he says.  "I've worked in construction first, both as designing buildings and putting them together"

That's not too useful... on the type of weather, we're going to dig our home...

"But then I got placed in a factory... got a record at assembling guns, and then kitchen stuff... fridges, processing machines... sorts"

"Oh? That's interesting" I say. And indeed... he could sure help us make some gadgets...

"Oh look! Meat!" Silvana says as she comes inside and opens her meal.

"Lucky! I have a weird jelly thing... tastes sour..." I say.

These meals are from different worlds. The only comfort you have is that they're not poisoned and that they keep you from getting hungry through an entire day.

"You can have some if you want" Silvana says.

She's so caring... "No thank you" I say. "Enjoy your meal" I continue while smiling, then I turn to the newcomer

"Sooo... Freddy... Your first task will be to make some batteries, I take it you know how to do it right?"

"Yeah, of course, but I'm no magician. You have to give me the resources." He says.

"You can grab them yourself from the storage outside. You don't have to do it now, you can wait till the storm calms down." I say.

We sit around the fire and talk until the weather clears, WJ joins us shortly. As Freddy starts working on the batteries, which we decided to temporary place them in WJ's room, we start digging an entrance into the room they discovered yesterday.

And indeed... what a room...

"ECHO!" I yell, hearing "Echo" back twice. It is indeed quite the empty space.

"Let's get a cable and a light here" I say, to which Wej and Silvana nod and walk outside to bring the materials. I look into this room as much as I can see in the dark. It's made of red-ish bricks and seems to have a kind of pattern on the wall...

After they set up the light I can see that the walls have details... otherwise the floor is flat excepting a small elevated part at the end of the room... it looks like an altar...

"That right there... I'll be breaking that and have my bed in it's place" I say.

"You'll sleep on top of the sacrifice place?" WJ asks me.

"Eeee-yup" I say.

"That's... not weird at all" he says again.

I drill the altar away as Wej and Silvana bring over the bed and put it in place... I enjoy this room... it's quite spacious... But I guess I shouldn't waste time. I head outside... walking through the hall and the drilling sound of WJ and Silvana, walk past WJ's room to see sparks flying from the batteries Freddy is welding on and through the door that luckily, opens by itself.

The trees didn't seem to grow... but the fruit bushes seem to be full... In 3 days, that's a good thing. I take some of the fruits, while also planting more.

As the day comes to an end, the batteries hold some power, so we're going to sleep with the lights still open. Because of the lack of wood, Freddy doesn't have a bed... or a room, so he's sleeping in Silvana's bed while I share my bed with her in the chamber that I shall use as my bedroom... Although the bed is too small for two persons... sleeping like this is quite comfortable.

The beginning of the storage room has been dug... and... the day has been quite good... we got a new member in our colony early in the morning... and ending with Silvana and I eating some of the purple fruits that we grew while sharing the bed...

Unfortunately... the bed is too small for us both to fit with our enviro suits... so I've disconnected the door to my new room from the power grid, morning doesn't mean that people'll barge in uninvited... and our suits are lying in a... messy manner next to the bed... The warmth of another sure beats the artificial heating of the suits, or the fire...

Captain's Log, Day 5.
5th of May, Year 1

This is so warm... I feel... weird... am I dreaming again? I don't feel the stiffness of my enviro suit, I feel... free... and smooth... besides the bed's blanket there's...
...
...
Silvana... I remember now...

How long did I sleep for... what did I dream... Not important... this feels so good... I don't want to wake up...

But I have to...

My eyes don't want to open... it may be too early... I have to go outside to check it out anyway...

My eyes slowly open... and indeed, Silvana's head is resting on my chest... moving slowly up and down as I breathe...

"Hey..." I whisper slowly. "It's time to wake up." I say after a pause, speaking quietly as to not to startle her.

"I don't want to..." she says, as she grips my arm tighter...

"Alright... but you'll have to let me go, I need to work" I say as I slowly start pushing her off of me, while at the same time trying to get out of the bed without either falling on my... uncovered... behind, or pushing her down... I can swear getting in bed was easier than it is to get out of it... for multiple reasons.

As the soles of my feet touch the ancient rocks, the cold doesn't make me feel too comfortable... so I stretch over Silvana and grab my enviro suit without waking her up... Ah the good feeling of an enviromental suit... like floating in a bath filled with warm water...

"Can we keep sleeping like this?" Silvana asks me in a half asleep voice.

"From time to time maybe..." I say, trying to avoid it as much as possible... as I start walking towards the door. When I am about to exit I hear a yawn behind me. Silvana stood up with the blanket uncovering her. This sight beats anything this planet can bring...

"You should get into your suit... wouldn't want you to get sick, I doubt we have the things needed to treat you..." I say, letting out a short laugh.

"I will... after I wake up" she says as she lies back down burying herself under the blanket.

I open the door and get outside in the hallway, closing it behind me. The main hall is empty, the outside door being closed... at least nobody broke in... but they don't have many reasons to, all our resources are outside after all...

Going outside it's still dark... although the moon is almost gone from sight, because of the mountain the valley doesn't get much light early in the mornings... Oh what's this?

What can only be described as a ball of fur hops curiously towards me...

"Hello little fellow" I say, looking at the small creature...  "Are you hungry?" I ask, while going to the storage space and picking up a fruit.
I kneel in the snow holding the fruit in my hand towards the small creature, that approaches slowly and with a small trunk sniffing my hand and the fruit. The creature hops next to my hand and picks up the fruit with it's front limbs. The fruit is about... twice as small as the little fluf... I wonder from what burrow this little guy came out of...

The creature's ears move a bit as he eats some of the fruit, then holds it with his trunk and hops away in the snow.

"That was cute" I say out loud to myself... I guess I'll start the day by cutting some trees... I'll follow the river downhill...

And I do just that. On an empty stomach I slide downhill through the snow. The river goes quite a long while, but I don't go past the next flat level. There's a small area with trees here... It'll be a pain carrying them uphill. But I manage to cut down two trees and carry them back before mid day... By the time I bring down the second tree, the storage room was dug entirely, and they started digging Freddy's room. The batteries are slowly filling, as I started working on a table that we'll place in the main hall. WJ helps me by working on a few chairs.

"5 days in and we're making furniture?" he asks me.

"It would happen sooner or later... Oh and we also have to work on Freddy's bed..." I say.

"Do we still have blankets?" WJ asks me.

"There should be a few... we also need a kitchen table..."

"We should get Freddy work on that. He said he manufactured refrigerators and sorts before did he not?" WJ asks me.

"Indeed..." I say.

"You're not too talkative today. Had a rough night?"

"Nah..." I say while thinking about last night... "Actually my night was great... it's just... I don't know, I'm thinking about how things will progress."

"Don't worry about that" WJ says as he finishes a chair, and brings in another part of a tree's trunk. "Thing'll go out as they will. Don't worry about things that probably won't happen."

I'm glad that I've met Wej... he's been like a brother to me on many occasions...

By the end of the day, in the main hall on top of the spot where we once made a campfire there's a beautiful wooden table...

Freddy's managed to light on fire a kitchen table prototype, it light like a barbecue although it had no fuel, and was not connected to electricity. Luckily nobody was hurt.

Silvana and Freddy are eating the remaining meals while Wej and I chew on some of these fruits... I can't say they taste bad but I've eaten... quite many today. I guess this means that we'll have to get a bigger farm, they don't do wonders to your stomach... We'll have to find ways to cook them.

Tonight I sleep by myself... Freddy's room isn't done yet but he sleeps in the main hall where we've put his bed for now. I'm going to place down the wires through the hallways that we've made and help haul the resources that we left outside... I also want to get started on a communication beacon... who knows who'll be flying in the system.

Although I'm sleeping with my enviro suit on, it's comfortable enough... at least I manage to fall asleep.

Captain's Log, Day 6.
6th of May, Year 1

I wake up sweating, I wonder if I'm sick... I get out of my bed and walk out of my room... the hallway is dark, guess the sun didn't go out yet. Walking to the main hall I see

Freddy awake...

"Hey man" I say while letting out a yawn "You up so early?"

"Yeah..." he answers me "I've done the kitchen table... also cooked a... kind of rabbit. Heard the thing scratch our door, you want some?" He asks as he shows me the

cooked meat...

"Wow, that looks great!" I say. It indeed has a shade of bronze to it... "I'll let you enjoy it. Your catch after all."

I wonder if it's the creature I saw yesterday...

"I suggest we make some traps for them... we should try with the purple fruits seeing as nothing else grows naturally here" he says, as he starts eating some of the well

cooked meat. "Unless of course you want to live your life eating these fruits..."

"Hah we wouldn't want that... indeed a change is welcome, I guess we could make a few traps... but we don't want to slaughter everything living on this planet..." I say,

while I open the door and head outside.

"One or two won't hurt" Freddy says, as I close the door. Yet again you can't see the smaller moon orbitting the bigger one... Or is it a planet? I'm not sure... Either way the

sky is filled with beautiful stars. We're going to build another solar panel today and maybe that'll fill the batteries... I'm guessing that today I should take the drill in my

own two hands... But it's still early for that... I guess I'm going to put down some basic parts for a communication beacon first...

And indeed, I did so until the day finally shone in the valley here. We do get a bit of delay, the mountain is pretty tall...

I have Freddy work on the beacon while WJ and I put down the base of a new solar panel... Silvana is tending the farms. By the time the sun hits the middle of the sky and

starts going down, the second panel is working and the batteries are filling up rapidly.

Afterwards Freddy is left alone to do... well... whatever he wants basically, while we keep digging... After a while he joins us by cleaning the dust that we dig.

"The floor is cold as hell" Silvana says, her voice hardly recognizable from the drilling sound.

"Well maybe some day we'll get to put something else down." I say, while my hand-drill eats through the moutain rock. We've not hit metal for a while... we'll have to start

looking for it.

"Maybe we could get something from the fur of these little things running outside?" Freddy asks

"If you can catch that many yes" I say, while laughing, as sparks come out from metal, hitting metal.

"Oh look this one has metal in it!" WJ says in a happy tone.

May it last long...

After hauling both rock and metal we once again gather at the table in the main hall.

"Let us enjoy this fine meal of weird purple fruit jam!" I say standing up from my chair then sitting back down.

"We should give a name to these..." Silvana says while eating from the bowl of mashed fruit.

"Maybe tomorrow we can have a type of soup made from these?" Freddy asks.

"I'm sure that would just taste like jam" Wej says.

"Maybe if we catch a few of them creatures we can put them in a soup..." I say while trying to get the jam stuck in my teeth.

"What creatures?" Silvana asks.

"Oh some local wild life... nothing more than a bouncy ball of fur... and meat" I say in a joking manner.

"Maybe we could tame them!" she says.

"And they'd help us... how? Should we make running wheels and turn them into a generator? We can barely feed ourselves and..." I say.

"Wow take it easy" Wej says... I was indeed starting to think of the worst case scenario things... They know that they risk their lives being here... but they don't want it to

be any other way. As long as it can be different from how their lives were in the past...

"Come... -in... Are... -ou... lis...-e..-ing..."

The device that Freddy wired to the beacon, sitting on the kitchen table is transmitting someone's voice... and a lot of static.

"Well well well who could that be" I say... I wonder, is someone on the planet with us?

New chapter up... it's not a problem if I bump myself right? I mean... on the off chance there are people that actually read and enjoy it? I'm sorry if I shouldn't, it won't happen again.

Or should I post new chapters/logs in a new comment every time?

Very good!

I think a lot of the rimworld stories people write could be semi-successful TV shows if someone invested a decent amount of time and money into them.

Also, funnily enough, in my head the captain has Nicholas cage's voice XD
It's probably because of all he dramatic... pauses!
On the right path, but the wrong medication.

I like how there's a thing that displays how long you've logged in to the forums. It shows just how many hours you've spent here, never to get back...

Riael

I've put bits of myself into the characters. Besides the fact that the leader's name are my initials =)) He's always thinking about the present and the future, trying to plan things ahead, exhausting himself not by overworking but by doing a normal share of work and having usual conservations while in his head making plans for the best/worst case scenario. I think he'll be the first I'll test the mental breakdown on seeing as he's a bit sensitive, if something about what he's planned goes a bit wrong it takes some effort to look over it and adapt to the situation... I still have to work the day passage though, it seems kinda short for now... they do a few big activities and some small basic things in-between, so I'm not sure if it feels like a day.

Glad that at least until now people seem to enjoy it... it's only been a few days after all.

Bruvvy

I really enjoy your story, please continue it.

Riael

Wonderful there's a character limit... I'll have to do something about it.

I'll reserve this one as well... It'll get messy as I'll write more logs sadly. Unless of course I can ask the ones that answered until now to remove their messages so I can just edit the logs in my comments...
