I'm going to start this off by saying I know this may tick off the people who payed $125 but im guessing that the payed back story people almost always get accepted and if not gets to try again? but anyways
here is the rubric:      (proposed)
*1-2 paragraphs
*proposed skill changes
rules:     (proposed
*not that inappropriate
*no cussing
*reasonable

Here's one of my attempts on a backstory

Submarine crew member
(name) was a lowly crew member on a submarine that was stationed on a aqua planet under control of the luddietite rebellion. At the time of her largest battle she/he was a engineer and promoted several times since. she/he was promoted all the ways to first mate before the betrayal of her/his second mate getting him/her framed for discharging a torpedo at a allied sub

I'm guessing your game is to make new ones, but here's the one i did for paying the higher tier:

Childhood
Growing up on a remote Urbworld Hive City, NAME had an isolated upbringing. Disliking heights caused HIM to develop an Introverted lifestyle, preferring the indoors. During the instances HE went out onto the catwalks of the mid-upper city, HE enjoyed playing war games, becoming proficient with various simulation weapons.

Adulthood
Dissent among the Urbworld led to uprisings which quickly perished as an illness struck the populace. NAME and other researchers revealed it as a bioweapon. Rumours spread, causing the scientists to be blamed and assaulted. NAME escaped the chaos: leaving his home to collapse into the depravity of war.

No offense but this is probably in poor taste considering (as you mentioned) that some people payed good money to submit their back story.

Also, you're sort'ave taking money out of Tynan's pocket.

Also, also, this belongs in the suggestions forum.

I don't see why it matters if he's just suggesting backstories, worst thing that can happen is it will be ignored, but it could give some people ideas, or someone may have the most amazing backstory, that Ty will go "hmm, yeah I really need that". So unless I misunderstood this thread, I certainly can't see how it "taking money out of Tynan's Pocket"? And maybe people want to write their own stories, and want some ideas for characters in those stories

It reduces incentive to actually pay the extra money to submit and have your character back story in game if people can just randomly submit and get the same thing here on the forums for free. This thread is steering potential customers away from paying Tynan more money, that's pretty much the same as taking the it right out of his pocket. Ultimately that's my opinion and thus semantics.

Semantics aside though, this belongs in suggestions if it belongs anywhere at all. That's just a fact.

Once again, no offense but... I calls 'em like I sees 'em.

I'm not being argumentative, just curious about where your viewpoint was coming from. It's one thing being allowed to "suggest" to suggestions being implemented, I was just trying to say  there's no harm in talking about it here, because the incentive still remains that it you want it in the game, you have to pay, I'm just saying that, as a creative exercise it could be interesting to see what people without the funds, or not that die-hard interested in getting their ideas into the game would be, and just saying that Ty may, and most likely won't use these ideas, but someone may say something that might be of interest to someone, Ty included

And yes I suppose your right it does belong in suggestions

Fruit loops

this was not meant to a fend anybody or to hurt Ty's sales but there is quite a few of us that don't have 125 dollars laying around though I was only meaning to have a few of these chosen and I mean the GREAT ones, if ty reads over this every  once in a while and finds one that is so amazing that HE thinks it should be implemented than so be it other wise he can just post telling us not to do this or even remove it

While I can appreciate your viewpoint I have to disagree. Simply putting out suggestions doesn't mean Tynan is in any way obligated to use them. Considering that, paying to get your backstory in game is the ONLY sure solution to getting it in game. If you REALLY want your idea in game, you'll pay for it, or you won't if it's not a big deal to you. I would argue however that if any of the suggested ideas ARE implemented it shouldn't be well until after you can no longer pay to have them implemented.

I would love to see tons of extra things like this as it really helps flesh out the storyteller aspect of the game, having a large variety of things that can contribute to a pawn's "personality". I don't think merely suggesting things is detrimental, Tynan could completely ignore this thread if he so chooses, or decide at some point to implement every suggestion (though I would doubt that). The only complaint I would have is if they were implemented while people were still paying for them, but even then, paying for it is just guaranteeing you that it'll be included.

Wouldn't it be great if we had like a specific area of the forums for stuff like this?

I know, I know...it's a crazy idea, far fetched even... but stay with me now...

What if we had like a...a sort of a...kind of a...area for suggestions? Like a section of the forums that's just for suggestions? Like if we could just get all the suggestions together in one place you know? ...A "forum" ONLY for suggesting things if you will...Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet? I'm a genius.

Isn't this for generic backstories rather than the personalized/character ones people write? Kind of a big difference.

He specifically mentions the 125$ Game purchase in his OP.

Backstory in Game Pack ($125)
Like Name in Game, but you also get to write a unique character background, including backstories and skills.

Write yourself as an interplanetary detective, an entrepreneur, an ex-artist, or anything else you can think of! (Content must be fictionally coherent.)

Considering none of us here are moderators to move it, there's no need to be a dick about it, and let's face it, right now in this thread I see nothing being suggested anymore
