Hi there,

Is there a way to change the floor back to a natural ground ? Sometimes i change my colony's plans and want to change the floor, but it seems once changed to carpet or paved etc, it's stuck that way and can't be planted or turned into dust again.

Even with DevMod i couldn't find an option.

Did i miss something ?

Thanks

There's no way through the standard interface for floors to be removed. The only way I've read about was that a fertilizer pump could be used for this purpose on previous alpha builds.

I also think there should be a floor destruction tool, or simply be able to place the original dirt material.

You are able to do that with the fertillizer pump. Just place the pump where you want to chance the ground. It will change the ground around it to soil (The ground will be turned into soil in a radius of 2 from the pump)

Nice, why i didn't think about the pump myself ?
I would prefer another way to deal with that, but still it's "something".

Thanks.

Idk :p sometimes humans forget simple things xD

It could be a mod - construction options that allow the placement of various natural floor tiles. Let's say sand, gravel and rough rock. Sand and gravel could cost metal and the rough rock could be stone blocks. Or just make everything cost stone blocks.

Just don't forget that a fertilizer pump will turn Rich soil into regular soil.  >_<

Well that's just silly :p
I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. - Myself

The dubious quotes list is now public. See it here

Wow, really? I've never touched the fertilizer pump, but that sounds like a bug to me. You should probably report it?

It was something I encountered a while ago. To be honest, I haven't tried it for a couple alphas.  I should check on that, though.
