Have a prisoner tame animals for you

Is it possible to get a prisoner to do that for you? I have Prison Labor and Locks. Last time I assigned a prisoner to tame animals, all the tamed ones showed as enemies because they belonged to the prisoner's faction and my colonists hunted them.
